With my hands tied behind my back, I’m shoved into the back of a minivan. I sense the bodies of women around me. I lift my head to try to look under the blindfold. Two men are visible through the windshield. They are exchanging money. The man taking the money looks so familiar. I know I’ve seen him somewhere before. I don’t see anyone else around.
I try to turn my body to jiggle the handle. It’s locked.
I can’t get the face of the man out of my mind. Maybe he is one of the rapists. I usually can’t look too closely at them. I try to peek again from under my blindfold, but they are gone.
