CHAPTER THIRTEENRyan January 4, 2013 My legs are cramping from the long flight. I want to stand up, but I don’t want to disturb Jenna, who is sleeping next to me. I have made this trip several times, and it never gets shorter. At least we’re on our way home. The total flying time from Omaha to Thailand is about twenty-eight hours, but it usually takes around thirty-six with the layovers and connections. We are on the longest leg of the flight from Beijing to Houston. I push the tray table back into the upright position and try to stretch my legs forward a bit. After the flight attendant walks through the cabin with blankets, I lean my head back and reflect on the many trips and how we got to this point.
