I hang up the phone with the registrar’s office. The arrangements to drop my classes at Goodwin are complete. My hope is to enroll in some type of accelerated program to get my teaching certificate when I settle in the DC area. My aunt lives in nearby Richmond, which is what makes me decide on DC. I have also considered moving to California because I’ve always felt a sense of comfort and connection with Patricia, my therapist, and I think some of that is due to her being a native Californian. But in the end, I know it will be nice to have family nearby, and it will also make this transition easier on my mother.
