“So now which state are we in now?", selene asked as she help him in cutting woods.

“We are in the northern side, yobe state, and in yusufari dessert specifically in the yusufari local government area, I would say your lucky you found your self here, had it been you found your self in Kaunda or nassarawa , I think that will be a zero for you because of the radinings of the bokoharam, you have to be very careful in any place you find yourself, yes, they are much in other northern sides but that does not mean their not here, even though they her so called master was saying, sometimes she also wonder with this man way of thinking if he's actually ok, or perhaps she must be talking with a mad man that excape asylum and met himself here.

“I'm not supposed to be telling you this because you already know it but maybe let me remind you Incase I can correct your ment...., I mean thinking. (Yelling), there is something called sand creatures don't you know, didn't you see the one I killed in the morning how big and dangerous it was, don't you know that there are more of them rather dangerous ones that comes out in the night. And you want us to move now, sorry ohh but I need to ask, are you well, did you hit your head somewhere because me I don't understand again oh! “, Selene said as she demonstrated urgently while following Charles around the little cabin as he pack their stuffs.

" Do you know it takes complete three days on leg you move out of this dessert and 1 day on a Camel, I have a Camel which will take us out within 24hrs.“

" Why can't we go tomorrow”

" Still still don't get it do you, harmattan is all ready here and it's more dangerous then any animal you see out there because we are in a dessert, I bet you haven't been blinded by sand before so we..... “

" Neither have you been blinded by sand”

(Pauses)" I would say you really got guts, but no time to treat your f**k up, I'll have the people you'll meet at the town teach you that”. Charles said as he started walking out of the cabin with selene following.

“Is this what you do all year, move out when it's time for harmattan, why can't we just stay one more day is their any difference if we move out tomorrow. Why did I even tell you the date".

Charles kept on walking not looking back, he doesn't have the time to start arguing with this arrogant girl, he packed their bags bringing everything useful and nessesary, still with selene following him shouting and telling him but than whatever reasons she has for them not to go that day, he brought the Camel and started off his journey with her still shouting not talking because all of what she was saying isn't a bit helpful to him, unknowing to her that they have all ready started their journey he left her to keep on talking.

“Wait oh, God have mercy, don't tell me we have already started moving." Selene said as she felt herself about to cry, still following Charles.

“Oh, did you just realise, I thought u'll never realize till we reach there,congrat, em, if your tired tell me so you climb the Camel oh queen of talking “Charles said as he giggled in every word he says laughing silently as he watch the enjoyable crying expression of selene.

" I hate you"

“The main reason I want us to move out today is because of the harmattan, do you remember the girl I told about that died?", Charles asked.

“(Silence)"

(Scoffs)”that was my sister, she died of the dust of harmattan, I don't want you to be pitiable of me, but I've come to realise that she deserves it, don't ask me why, personal reasons which I won't explain to you. I wouldn't want that to happen again especially when I lost track of date”.

" I'm sorry for being rude I just wanted to treat a little bit in the dessert, just look at how beautiful it is, I still can't believe such outstanding place is in Nigeria”, selene said as she adjusted herself on the Camel holding unto Charles.

" I understand”

Charles looked around and breathe in deeply

" Remember when I told you you'll be my shadow”

" Yeah, I agreed to that you know.. “

" Good, where you're going is where you'll exhibit it, remember the place is referred to as the 'yusufari sand dunes', and it is near gashua town which is your location, I packed all the nessesary things you'll need there, so be careful”

" Why all you telling me all this as if we are not going together”

" If course we aren't”

" What do you mean”

Charles got off the Camel and carried his bag

“Don't tell me all going there alone, why aren't you following me” selene surprisingly asked

“ I Can't you remember when I told you am very wanted I can't go to the town with you, unless you want me dead or do you”

" Wait don't go yet, where will I stay, how will I eat since I have no money, c'mon you can't just leave me like this" selene said as she came down from the Camel following Charles as he was walking out.

(Laughs)”see the kind of question your asking me, do I look like I have money in me, I don't have shishi, I no get moneyyyy, find your way and it's better you stop following me and go and hold the Camel before it walks away. Selene couldn't belive this man could leave her here in the middle of this dessert with nothing now she realise she has been actually living with a mad man.
