They splashed water at the unconscious Myst. He jolted upright due to shock. I knelt and hugged the bars that separate our cages. “Are you okay?” I worriedly asked but I tried so hard not to show.

“Why are you worried about me? We are allies, yes, I can see that but… you’ve gotten into so much trouble because of me, aren’t ‘ya mad? I could’ve been a fraud and I set everything up to put you here.”
“You’re not inside that thing if you set this thing up. Besides, even if you planned this, I can’t afford to lose you to…” He considered it and nodded. He scooped a handful of pebbles and threw one to my direction. I backed off. “What’s that for? You want me to be killed?” I sharply whispered.
“Hey, you know?” He threw another. “I never planned that this would happen but…”
“Okay, okay! I know! It’s clear okay? Quit it! You could’ve hit me!” I whispered but he still threw two pebbles to my direction.
“I guess it’s all a coincidence, don’t you think?” He threw a key. I caught it. “I need to rewrite what the droids see. They now think that what’s in your hand is a pebble.” He smiled.
“What’s this?”
“Don’t act dumb, it doesn’t suit you. It’s a skeleton key. It’s for your room but… the skeleton of the locks of our cages are same with the house.” I studied it.
“You could open my room? Then…? Why…?”
“I made that while you were sleeping, the day you were sick. My first intention is to look for medicines in case you have some kind of illness. But what I saw erased my intention. And besides that, I became curious as to who were those people that you’ve drawn and why you drew them.”
I don’t know whether or not this lock has the same skeleton with my room so I tried it on the lock of my cage. I twisted it and it clicked. I got so shocked that the moment it swung open, I closed it and slid back at the farthest corner.
“Once we escape, what are we gonna do next?”
“It’s not we, it’s you. The moment you escape, I’ll be the one to hide them the fact that you’re not here. There are ventilators around this place. After five metres is a bathroom, inside, you can find a way to get inside the ventilation tubes—“
“Hold on. Ventilation tubes? You mean, the ventilation tubes?”
“Yes, they are big enough for you to fit in.”
“I know, I know. But what if you get caught?”
“They have tools here that could kill me,--“
“Okay, that’s not helping.
“Let me finish. They have tools here that could kill me but they won’t even try to use those, don’t worry.”
“But every corner of this place have cameras and I wouldn't be surprised if the ventilation area also have some. If I try to escape, after one hundred metres, you can hack the cameras no more. What am I supposed to do after that? Get myself caught?”
“Before you get to get one hundred metres is the heart of Arabelle’s palace. There, you will see a big woman. There are only her head and her heart and lungs. Numerous veins and vines connect it from special people.”
“Why?”
“Special people are special because of the capacity of their brains. The big woman also known as the Matriarch needs their brains to gain more knowledge.”
“…and why are you helping me again?’ I don’t want him to reason out that he’s helping me just because we are allies. It’s hard to trust someone who repeats his words without telling more.
“Because I thought they’re putting my mother back to life. I thought it‘s for the good. When they rewired me, I gained the knowledge that they’re putting the Matriarch back to life. I’m not sure of the exact reason. One thing is for sure, this Matriarch will benefit dystopia.”
“And why exactly should I trust you?”
“Because I’m doing this for my mother. For justice.”

“Good evening, citizens of Arabelle. Please tune in at exactly midnight. A welcoming show will b held for our goddesses.” Static followed.

“How many hours would it take? It should be ready even before midnight.”
“About four hours sir. An hour before—“I waved my hand.
“Okay, okay. You may leave. Finish the thing.” The scientist left.
“Marcus!” Someone called from behind. I turned.
“Horden!” We patted each other in each other’s backs. “It’s been a long time, how are you? What brings you here?”
“I want to see the reincarnation of the Matriarch myself, and not on a hologram. Anyways, how’d you done it? I studied for several years yet one thing is what I learned; it needs specials. But as far as I can see, to put the Matriarch to back to life, you need something more than special. So what is it? Spill it.”
“We both know that the Matriarch is the other Mother Nature. Also known its twin. However, their method is different. The Matriarch gives no mercy. It gives destruction to the things around it, the complete opposite of Mother Nature. So…”
“So?”
“They’re twins, they have the same blood running from their veins. So what I need is one thing: the blood of Mother Nature.”
“Mother Nature’s blood? Are you serious? When Mother Nature killed her twin, she did the same with herself to kill the source of life of the Matriarch. Mother Nature now lives in the core. Don’t tell me you went down the core?”
“No. you’re forgetting something, my friend. Mother Nature gave her blood to seven different people…”
“And seven of that seven began turning into coal, rock, and metal, hm?”
“Let me finish, Horden. Mother Nature gave her blood to seven different people and a drop to a little girl. It’s a drop so it won’t harm of course. But as the little girl grew up and have her daughter and her daughter give birth and so on, the blood multiplies. And this generation, the blood that multiplied is enough to put the Matriarch back to life.”
“And the lucky person’s here?”
“Living and breathin’. The girl is ready, the sacrifice I ready.”
“Sire, Arabelle and Dratha are the only towns that the rebels hadn’t taken over yet. The number of droids is decreasing very fast. What should we do, sire?”
“I don’t know Kob. Father is too excited about the reincarnation that he completely forgot the thing about the rebels. I tried to tell him but he just said that there’s another time to deal the thing. The rebels shouldn’t ruin his special day. Well, if I am one of the rebels, I’d probably choose this day, this special day. Well, if I am one of the rebels, I’d probably choose this day, this special day to destruct this place. Well, who am I to choose anyways? Where’s Murdock?”
“He’s with your father, sire.”
“Let me guess, he’s planning? If he wants to sharpen his planning skills, why not help me with the rebels? Kob, why?” I say but Kob just curiously looked at me. I sighed and leaned back at my chair and buried my face in my palms. “Let’s just hope that things would go smooth today. I don’t want to ruin my father’s happiness once again.”
