The light bulb began flashing red lights.
“Oh my gosh! What’s that?! An alarm? There’s a fire? A robbery? What’s happening?!” I exclaimed.
“Mom, will you stop being too obvious?”
Marvin laughed. “You act so much like my wife.” A droid came in.
“Good evening, Lanky residence.”

“Ma’am, I suppose you could now calm down.” The droid said.
“Xyrie, I may now take my word. Maybe, when we once again meet, you already look like forty-eight or something. Good for the reapings.” Said captain in the comms then laughed. I rolled my eyes.
“Daily check Madame!” the droid surveyed the area.
“Barb eat with us. You may be hungry with all the work.” Then did the moment I realized my foolishness. “I mean, join us. There may be things that we need to discuss. You know all the good things.”
Barb--the droid—laughed in monotone. “I think you are just confused since we droids look more like humans than bots nowadays. I forgive your mistake. Anyways, I’ll be glad to join you but duty calls. I will just remind you that, your daughter, Robin, will be married tomorrow.” He smiled. “Good evening, Lanky residence.”
He closed the door and we sat on the table and ate.
“Robin, are you going to have an arranged marriage?” Robin nodded. “Ugh. I hate those kinds of arrangements. I mean, can’t we choose on our own?” Robin smiled. The first since this week. I turned the mic of the comms unit on.
“Captain, what are we going to do next?”
“All you need to do is wait. Just wait.”
Two weeks after Robin’s engagement…
We are slowly walking in the long line of uglies. Not in the bank, besides it would be much better if it was just the line of the bank.
Twelve people away from being killed.
I turned my comms unit mic on.
“Captain, I need status. I repeat, status.” I whispered. No answers.
Six people away from being killed.
“Captain, we’re about to die!?”
Two people away…
I touched Marvin’s shoulder. “Hey, let’s switch places.”
“But the lieutenant ordered nothing regarding our places.”
“You are one Lovebird away and you wanted us to fight about it?”
“No orders, no changes.” I shoved Marvin away.
One human being away…
I listen to no one.
I was about to be beaten to death with a bat when I glanced at the droid and cling to my cover.
“Oh my gosh! Barb?” the droid relaxed and placed his bat down. Bingo!
“Yes, Madame. If you’re finished, duty calls.” He once again lifted the bat.
“Me and my husband here, Marvin, wanted to thank you and every droid in this town. I hope… the cycle, never… ever… ends.” A copter arrived and started shooting the bots. I tilted my head to Marvin and smiled.
“What?” I asked when he just looked at me.
“It’s an honour, Miss Xyrie, to be your partner.”
I smiled. “Same to you.” I took the bat from Barb and beat the droid behind him. That’s close. But never will I do anything that will create some shock wave that will separate me from Aqua. I smiled at the thought.

“This girl never failed to impress me.” I smiled and stood up. I placed the mascara back at my face and wore my hood.
“See you, Madame.” I glanced once again at Xyrie and curtsied before jumping down the fifty story building.

“Michael, what’s with the sudden visit?” I threw another chip to my mouth. I had already regained myself from the shock earlier.
“Myst, as far as I can see, you are having fun at your grounds.”
I nodded multiple times that I almost got dizzy. “Yes, I do.”
“Then why bother visiting Castanue? Why disguise yourself at Sohua?”
I accusingly looked at Botock.
“Sorry Master. I need to tell someone.” He apologized.
Michael laughed. “No don’t worry my dear brother. Father doesn’t know anything.” He sat at a desk behind the door and threw a piece of orange into his mouth. ”Yet.” I sighed. “Oh c’mon li’l bro, you can’t hide anything at a country of pineapples. So who’s she? Is she cute?”
I looked at Michael, shock visible at my face. “She?”
“Spill it. I have eyes, everywhere.”
“Someone special.”
He stood up almost immediately when I’ve answered.
“Wait, don’t tell me she’s the daughter of those two.”
“Yeah. First daughter.”
“The girl with mother nature’s blood? She has a sister right?”
“Correct. But, I don’t have Infos about the sister.”
“When do you think can you get her? We need her,—better the two of them—alive.”
Before I could even answer, a droid barges in.
“Kob yes?” Michael said.
“We’ve killed a hundred of them. The rebels.”
He glanced at me. “Myst, you know your rest won’t be long. You’ll be killing soon as well. It’s not like you could hide here at your apartment forever. Father will soon find out that you got punished on purpose. Besides, Father didn’t teach you to just lie there, did he?”
I slid 180 degrees and faced Michael.
“I don’t get the point. Father killed Mother. He made us like this. Why do you always tell me specials are for Mother? He won’t waste time to someone he’d want dead. There’s something else in this story.”
“No, nothing else but the fact that Father had regretted killing Mother so he needs the special children to bring Mother alive in the fountain of life.”
Michael reached for the door and about to close it when I spoke.
“You know how I hate lies.”
“I know.” He whispered and closed the door.
I dabbed ointment at the injury of a blonde little girl. She looks like Aqua, only, older.
“Miss, would my mom be alright? What would happen to us after this? Would you kill my parents too when I turn eighteen?” I looked at the woman on the bed. All bloody but now safe. I looked back at the girl.
“Yes, she’ll be alright. You two will be fine after this and will be joining your father and… no, your parents won’t be killed in any age you step to.” I continued dabbing ointment on her injury.
“Xyrie! Dr Beth and Lieutenant wanted to talk to you.”
I stood up and looked back at the girl. The girl mouthed thank you that made me smile. I caught up with the girl who called me. I reached where the captain is.
“We’ll leave today. Get ready, the jeep will be ready after an hour. Next stop, Dratha.”
“No. I will stay here. We can leave tomorrow, can’t we?”
“Why? Are you a doctor? Psychologist? Psychiatrist? Or even a nurse? Do you belong to any of which?” I looked down as a no. “At least you know. If you want to save these people, don’t let your start be the end. If you care about them, we leave now.”
“But I’m a vet. I know something about healing. I can help them.”
“They’re not animals for Pete's sake! Besides, we have—“
“Miss Xyrie, I think you have many important things to do so leave it to us. Besides you already helped. We can already manage it from here. We appreciated your concern and help.” The doctor said then she smiled and left.
“Why did I even got the chance to get this girl? Gives me nothing but headache…” Captain muttered while walking out. I glanced at the injured people.
“They can take it from here,” I whispered before taking my glance away and running to catch up at Captain.
