I do not remember how long I have stayed on the cold floor, I think it was hours. The only thing I could think of was to make plans on how to save those innocent people and their suit from my cruel of a monster uncle. I had the flashlight of my restlessness from the past few weeks and I could see now why. My blood tried to warn me that something big is about to come, but of course, I have never guess what it was. Until now. I could only hope it wasn't too late. I started to hear how the banquet was about to begin. The invites were coming. I ran to my window and could see lots and lots of people. As I was looking outside I saw that the night was coming. The last sunshine was about to disappear. The sky was having a color like blood, ironically. That meant not only that I had just a few hours to save these people, but my nanny was about to follow our plan of my escaping and if it was on the roll then I had literally no chance of saving them. The last thing I wanted was that my uncle catches me after I put all the castle to sleep. I had to live and make him pay his debts, as no one would make him. I gained my strength for a few seconds, clenched my fists, and took the decision. I would get out of my room, lock it, just as my uncle told me to do tonight, I couldn't be happier to listen to his orders this time, and go to save my neighbors. Hopefully would be a good time to save them.
I looked around the room, it was my place of hope for the little times and sorrow for the many. I had a huge sensation that my life will be different after I leave it behind. I had nothing to take with me, only some money I could sneak and my mother's mysterious jewelry, I could sense their power, that my nanny seemed like a professional inside my dress.
I took the keys and cape and went out of the room. I closed the door and a chapter of my life.
After locking my door I started to go down the stairs, hearing the noises from the ballroom, but I started to hear another music în my ears. I had a flashback with my mother singing at the piano, and after that grabbing my little hand în play and took me în front of a wall saying ” My sweet Issa, whenever you will be în danger or you will need help, just touch the wall of your home, and will help you as your most loyal guardian. Will hear your thoughts and guide your path” Then the most extraordinary thing happened, she put her hand on the wall and closed her eyes. The wall opened în front of us and a corridor showed lighted up by fireflies. I was amazed and couldn't speak, but she grabbed my hand and în laugh started running în the corridor. I was smiling with joy, and when I looked back I saw the wall closed. We ran on the corridor were little because we were led out behind the castle where the forest was. After we got out she leaned towards me and say it one more time în a serious voice ” Trust your home Issa, is your guardian”, that she took my hand and went to explore the surroundings.
I had to sit down as I came back în the present because the feelings were overwhelming. I missed her so much, and now with this memory back to life, I knew she was protecting me. I was small maybe 3-4 yo to remember her words, and now în the time of most need she showed my path. ” Thank you mommy” I whispered to myself. I got myself up, now ready than ever to do the right thing knowing I had my back covered. Even she was gone I knew so sure like I knew my name that she is protecting me.
My tower was having a hidden door that would go to a castle corridor, just that nobody would know it was a door there, except my uncle and his son and my nanny, because it was covered by a huge curtain showing a fierce full warrior, none other than my uncle. He was having paintings with him all over the castle and burned all of those with my parents. I clenched the hand to the door remembering that, but I tried to cool off my head because my mission was more important than my feelings right now. The time to regain my rights here will come and I will make him feel sorry for all he has done.
I slowly open the door and looked in the corridor for any signs of uncle's man, and I saw nothing I got out. Now I had to get to the music room where my mother showed me how to access the walls, and I knew it was at the end of the corridor, quite long because it was having 30 guest rooms. Nanny said that because of the imminent near to my tower door these rooms will not be used by the guests. Because even they wouldn't have the chance to sleep in those beds, the person would have brought them their luggage.
I started to walk slowly near the wall because it wasn't so much light on the corridor, only not to trip and feel, when I heard a voice right behind me
" Who are you and why you are sneaking in the night on these corridors? They are off-limits, nobody but the royal family can be here."
I froze.
My mind would try to find an answer but my body would not move. I was trembling like a leaf only thinking:
"Now what?"
