My how time has gone by. I’ve finally been able to leave the hospital. When I fell, I really did a number on my body. I have had to have 2 surgeries these past couple of weeks. I got to see your kids out running around today with the neighbors as we were heading back to the nursing home.
It may be September, but this 80-degree weather has your kids looking like they’re ready to go to the beach.
That reminds me of the first time we went to the beach as a family. It wasn’t anything fancy, just a small beach on the lake in our park. We didn’t have much money to go on vacation in the beginning, but my son would talk to me about all those memories he had.
Gretchen has been getting antsy with me lately. She says I’m not sleeping or eating enough. I don’t know how else to tell her. No one likes hospital food, especially since all of the food is as bland as cauliflower. I’m just glad that I got to see your family today on our way back. Be safe dear and squeeze those kids tonight. Days like this go by fast.
Sincerely,
Gertrude Reynolds
