Letter 8 Thanksgiving

231 Words
Oh, how wonderful it was to see you all this afternoon. Sally told me that you had made an exceptionally beautiful Friendsgiving meal. We were surprised when the nurses allowed Sally to leave the building. Her health has been deteriorating a lot lately. I’m glad that she got to spend Thanksgiving outside of this building. Gretchen was surprisingly happy today about having to work on Thanksgiving. I didn’t ask about that boyfriend of hers, but I’m hoping she got a brain and left the son-of-a-g*n. He’s a no-good little boy with a lot of anger issues. I can’t stand him at all. Our nursing home gave us thinly sliced turkey, pureed corn and a disgusting sweet potato casserole. I can’t stand sweet potatoes. They don’t taste sweet to me, they taste rotten. They didn't even give us dessert this year like they have in the past. I was highly upset and let the staff know. Sally said that you don’t make that dish, which makes me happy. I’ve never understood why it even became a Thanksgiving dish. Maybe I’ll investigate that tonight if I can’t sleep again. I’m heading off to bed now, so I will write to you soon. I truly hope that your Thanksgiving was perfect. I know Sally said she had the most wonderful time that she has had in years. Well good night dear. Sincerely, Gertrude Reynolds
