Letter 10 Merry Christmas

296 Words
Hello dear, I know that this holiday season probably isn't the greatest. I wish that Sally was here to see you and those babies open your Christmas presents. When we were shopping online, she kept asking Gretchen what the best gifts would be for those babies. Ryan, that annoying nurse, kept saying to go ahead and get your little boy a hoverboard. Gretchen chased him off, yelling at him about the dangers of those things. It was really funny. The sweater that Sally got for you was specially ordered by a lovely local lady. She wanted to ensure that you had something to remember her by; incase anything like this would happen. I think she may have known that she wouldn't get to celebrate Christmas with you this year. Her room has recently been given to a new patient, which is no surprise. These darn nursing homes don't think about how the grief hits us elderly when we lose a friend. I went to the service that you held for her. I want to say you did an absolutely lovely service and the flowers were exactly what she would've loved. You knew your aunt so well. I know she is proud of you. I hope that that baby in your belly is doing alright. Please make sure that you are taking time for yourself dear. Being a soldier for your family is alright for a short time, but you need to ensure that you are able to take care of yourself too. Well, I am exhausted from this holiday. It's always hard for me, as I have no one left to celebrate with. Gretchen was forced to take the holiday off, as she has worked every holiday this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year dear.
