Letter 2 Moving Day

I drove past the house today and I saw that you are all finally moving in. Your children are beautiful. I remember how excited my son was when we first moved into that house. You couldn’t get that child to calm down for nothing. The back room on the right used to be his room. That was many years ago though.

I hope your children like the tree in the backyard. All the children in the family used to climb in it.

I left a couple of pictures of the house inside for you, as a gift. I had them framed. The first one is of the house from when it was originally built back in 1920. The next one was a picture that we had no idea was being taken. A friend of ours did it after we remodeled the home. A lot has changed within those 70 years.

I forgot to mention there may be a gnome buried in that yard somewhere. My boy and his friends were quite pranksters. Sorry about that. I saw that you were already looking at that old rickety shutter on the left front window. My late husband put those shutters up, and I didn’t have the heart to ask the contractor to take them down. I should have though; I know they’re a bit of an eyesore.
