Alpha King

Chapter 2

I woke up the day next happier than I was last night. I did not even dream last night. That was a step up from the night before. When I went downstairs my mom, grandma, and Auntie Kim were sitting around the kitchen island talking with each other. God knows probably gossiping something they are good at. But it is a new day and I woke up on the right side of the bed.  

"Good morning everyone," I said then I sat on the couch with my little cousins watching cartoons.  Cartoon on a Saturday morning what could go wrong.  

"Jenna can you come here real quick," my Auntie Kim said "yes one second" I walked over to her. She has some more bullshit to say.  Jenna stop remembers the right side of the bed.  

"Listen I didn't know finding your mate was a touchy subject for you, I just wanted to tell you that I'm so sorry" when I looked at her face I could tell that she truly was sorry. Forgive and forget, I guess. I just wish they would understand that stuff like finding a mate is out of my control. "It's ok I really overreacted it's just I get asked that all the time and I'm just so tired of it," I said God I am such a pushover.  

"Hug it out," she said and gave me a long hug. "Honey get your breakfast before the boys come down," my mom said I got two pancakes, bacon, eggs, and hash browns. That is when my mom called all the rest of them down.  

We all talked for a long time. The whole family has not gotten together for a long time. I miss these times as a family, but we all have separate lives different packs now. Hopefully, we can start coming together more often.  

" Mommy can I go play outside," one of the little kids said all the rest of them add they wanted to go play outside too  

There were only like 6 of them. "Jenna can you tack them outside" 

"Yeah sure " I got up from my seat and took them all our side. 

I have always loved kids but at my age know I do not plan to have any kids anytime soon. Do not get me wrong I am excited to have little wolf babies with my mate.  

As I was watching the kids run around in the backyard I was thinking about all the fun I had when I was a kid now I am out of high school trying to start a life without a mate. 

I have plans of moving out very soon but I do not know when. I wanted to see if Lexi is going to come to my brother's new alpha induction tonight 

"Hey Lex," I said, and she picked up the phone  

"Hey Jay, " she said, "how are things going?" 

"Good I just wanted to see if you and Derek are coming to my brother's thing tonight?" 

"Um No sorry we are out of town right now we left right after yesterday we are going to see his parent's" 

"Oh, ok well you two have fun"  

"OK we will love you Jay" 

"Love you too Lexi bye 

"bye" 

So much for trying to catch up. The mate life has claimed her, and I will never get her back.

It was 5:30 and I was getting ready for the party Sarah asked me to do her hair. 

"Thank you so much for doing this for me," she said. 

"Yeah, no problem you're my sister now," I said doing final changes to her hair. 

"I'm super nervous to be Luna," she said. 

"Sarah you will be fine I have faith in you," I said "Thank you so much for being such a good person," she said. 

My hair was in loose waves.  

We did some touch-ups to our makeup.  

"Are you ready?" I said to her "Yeah but Kevin wants me to walk down with him" she said "ow I will just have to make a statement by myself"  I said then she left Kevin was waiting for her right outside of my door. 

Before I left, I made sure everything looked go. 

' we look Hot!' My wolf said 

'Yes, we do' then I left the room making my way down the stairs there were a lot of people. Everyone so dressed fancy. 

I saw Danny sitting at a table, so I walked over to here. "Hey D," I said. 

"Love the dress," she said "Thank you," I said then sat next to her. "You will never guess you came to the party," she said to me I took a sip of water that was sitting out on the table. "The alpha king is here," She said "Wait the alpha King is here " I started to eat some bread that was sitting out on the table. "Yeah he's here" she sat back in her chair "Oh my gosh," I said. 

"He just came by himself," I asked  

"Yeah he did he hasn't found his mate yet" she added  

"It seems like he's in the same boat as me" I took a sip of water. 

"I can't believe he came out the royals sometimes never come out too small events like this " 

"I know people say that he is so hot I've never seen him so I wouldn't know" 

"I think he is pretty hot he has these really bright blue eyes, oh my gosh they are so beautiful," she said. 

Then my dad got on the microphone "Thank you to all the Alpha's and Beat's that came I really appreciate it. I would like to give a big thanks to the Alpha King for coming." Everyone started to clap "Today we are here to celebrate the new Alpha of the blue moon pack. Now My son Kevin come up here" then Kevin got up and went up on the stage. " Place you had on your heart," My dad said Kevin did as what he has told. 

"Do you Kevin pelage to withhold the abilities of an Alpha. To always be ready for anything at any moment. To lead the pack with honor, pride, and strength. Also, put the pack and your mate before yourself " My dad said "I do" he said. My dad pulled out a piece of paper "Please sign here" he said. 

"The New Alpha of the blue moon pack, Kevin Newport" everyone stranded up and clapped. 

My Dad and Kevin hugged. "I'm so proud of you son"  

"Thanks, dad" what a beautiful moment something that smelt amazing kind of pine trees and the woods " Do you smell that?"  I asked Danny "Smell what?" 

"It smells like pine trees," I said, "No I don't and I'm pregnant," she said, "Maybe it's your mate?" Could it really be I mean I have already convinced myself that I did not have a mate? 

My dad got back on the microphone "We just opened up the buffet go ahead and eat" 

"Danny do you need me to help you up" 

Max had just gone to the bathroom. "Yeah sure," she got up from her chair. The smell always comes and goes.  

Its growers even stronger when we go closer to the buffet lunch Line. 

Then I made contact with him and dropped my plate; all eyes were on me. "Um Danny I have to go to the bathroom I'll be right back," I said to her "Ok I'll be in line" Thank God that Max had just came back. 

I just saw my mate the one and the only guy I have been waiting for and I run away. 

' what are you doing go back' my wolf said 

'No, I'm too scared there's too much what if's'  

'What's is it to fear' 

'We could get rejected' she did not say anything after that. I sat down on the porch. 

What the f**k I am doing I should be in there with my mate! But I am just too scared. 

I could smell the pine smell coming closer and getting increasingly powerful. He looked into my eyes deep I could feel myself begin so attracted to him. 

His tall frame coming to me. 

"Do know how long I have been waiting for you?"  he said his voice so deep. 

I could not believe it I was this close to my mate. "Umm, I..... I've been waiting for you too" I said I got up stranded in front of him. He was so tall "Well I'm going to head back in," I said walked pass him. 

But then he grabbed my hand I felt the tingle on my hand. "Don't walk away from me?" he said with force. I pulled my hand away. "You will not tell me what to do" I stud my ground. 

He started to laugh "we are going to have to work on that attitude," he said "I am an Alpha King and you're going to have to respect me," he said his jawline tensed up.  

"I'm a lady I want respect too"  

"Who do you think you are to talk back to me" his eyes got a tint of red in them. 

I am not going to stand here and fight with him.  

I could tell that me disrespecting his is really ticking him off. "I am sorry" then I walked off and went back into the room.  

I could hear him say from behind me "Don't walk away from me" 

Some people were eating, and others were dancing. I started to eat everyone at my table had gone dancing I was sitting there alone. 

Then he came over and sat right next to me. "We both said something we shouldn't have, " he said to me while I stuff my mouth with salad.  

"It's ok," I said looking deep into his eye people were looking at us I could feel it. I wiped my mouth and moved closer to his face to stop the people around me from being nosey as hell.  

"As a lady and your mate, I will not be talked down to I'm your other half," I said 

"Well you're going have to stop talking back I don't want no one to say that I let you talk to me any kind of way it’s a man thing," he said in a whisper yell. 

"Can we talk outside there are people watching" he added. 

He stood up took my hand we walked outside the room. Into a hallway.  

He pushed me against the wall "I glad that you know how to piss me off so early in the game " he said.  

"Alpha Kings do not have a high tolerance for all the talking back, now I know you are still learning," he said he cupped his hand on my face.  

"Ok I'm sorry, but things with me will be different. I am not going to be like every other girl. Show me respect and I’ll do the same" I said then he let go of me. 

“Fine”  

"So, what's your name?" He said as we walked outside. The moon was big and bright. This was the perfect time at night that I would go for a run-in wolf. There was not a lot of people and everything was still.  

"Jenna I'm the Alpha's daughter well the old Alpha,"  

"I'm LJ,"  

 "Does LJ stand for anything," if only this man could have acted civil from the beginning, we would not have had any problems. And they say women make things complicated.  

  "Yes, it does, Lucky James William Steel I know it sounds stupid, but I like it...kind of," he said. 

I laugh for a little "It's ok I have an old lady middle name”  

"Ok let's hear it"  

" Edna, Jenna Edna Newport"  

"Wow," he slinked a little.  

"It was after my great grandmother so don’t laugh, she was a great Luna and did anything in her power to protect her pack and children even after her mate died in battle " I nudged into him a little.  

“Sounds like badass women,” he said as we made out was farther down the trail.  

“She was”  

We made our way to the garden one of my favorite places to be.  There is a little bench that looks over the garden. I helped plant all the flowers that were in full bloom right now.  

"Is this place special?" He asked 

"Yeah, this is where I come to think about things or just to read," I said look at all the beautiful flowers. When I turned to look at him and he was staring at me deeply. “What?” I questioned why he was staring at me so hard for. 

“You are truly the most beautiful creature I have ever seen” he pushed a piece of hair behind my ear. His touch made sparks across my skin. If felt so amazing, so much that I leaned into his touch. People have told me that I was beautiful, but it is coming from your mate it was different.  I could feel the Butterflies tumbling around in my stomach. 

“Thank you” I blush and look up at him.  

“God I could devour you right now, but I won’t” he pushed my chin up and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I could feel my face getting hot. “Don’t give me those eyes” he said resting his arm around. “What eyes?” I honestly did not know I was giving him any kind of eyes.  

“You know when you look up at me through your eyelashes? It’s a real turn on” I blushed even harder “That was not my intention LJ just to let you know” he smirked at me “You’re cute” He really knows how to make women blush.  

"Ok sir enough of that, how old are you?" I said  

"I'm 26 how old are you?"  

"19 well almost 20 in two mouths" 

"Oh, you're still just a little baby," he said 

"Ah, whatever old man,"  

“Old man I’m far from that” I would be lying 

"Can I tell you something?" he said he put his hand on my leg "Yeah what is it?"  

"This dress is killing me," he said he is biting his lip. 

"You look so hot in it," he said 

I blushed some more "Thank you" I said now that I look into his eyes, I remember those eyes from my dream.  

"Don't think I weird but I had a dream about you"  

"When?" He said  

"Like two nights ago," I said  

"No joke I had a dream about you too" 

"Really what was it about"  

He got quite “let's just say it made me happy," he said I started to laugh at him "Ok stop the laughing," he said playfully. 

"We should head in maybe go dance or something," I said I got up from the chair 

We walked into the banquet room they were playing a slow song. 

         He turned to me and said, "Can I have this dance" I smile and replayed "Yes, you can" he took my hand took me out to the dance floor. I can tell he is a little player. He knows how to wine and dine a woman. When I felt his place on the lower part of my back, I got chills. “What are you doing to me?” I asked 

“It's called the mate's touch baby get used to it and it only gets better from here” he bit his lip. Did I mention that he is incredibly good looking?  “Do I have that effect on you?” I brought one of my hands around his neck and the other holding his hand. He brought me closer to where my chest was touching his. He looked deep into my eyes like he was searching for something. He presses his lips to my ear and whispers, “You do all that and more baby girl” He places a simple kiss on my ear.  “How did I get so lucky to have a mate as beautiful as you” his hand was traveling up and down my lower back. “But she needs work on the talking back and the little attitude she has” I rolled my eyes at his comments.  As I looked abound, I notice that everyone was staring at us  

"Everyone one is staring at us," I said to him "Well you are dancing with the Alpha King and he is known for not having a mate"  

“I hate being in the spotlight,” I said to him.  

“You should get used to it. As Luna queen, you are going to have so many duties and we will visit lots of packs” He says know I’m nervous. I can’t even lead pups around what makes him think I can lead the whole wolf world.  

I have a feeling he could tell that I was nervous because he said “Hey you are going to be great. I can feel remarkable things coming from you” he sounded really reassuring, but things like this just make me really anxious. As the sound came to end, I let go of him. “I need to go take a breather.” I made my way to the bathroom and looked in the mirror and practiced breathing. Are you even made for that life? Why would the mood goddess pair me with the Alpha King? After I calmed myself down I went back out there, and he was waiting for me outside of the bathroom. “Are you ok?” he brought his under my chin, so I looked at him in the eyes.  “Yes”  

“You’re going to be ok I got you,” he said bring me into a hug.  

"Come sit at my table" he whispered in my ear. We walked off to his table. 

My brother was making his speech. 

"Hello everyone, I would like to thank you all coming..." I toned him out Lucky was whispering thing in my ear "I plan on leaving tonight"  

"Why tonight it's late"  

"I know I just want to be with you alone" he kissed my cheek. 

"Don't think you're going to get that far"  

He started to let out a little laugh my brother still doing his speech. I had one leg crossed over the other so my whole leg was out. 

"I don't think I can't let you wear these kinds of things anymore" he ran his hand up my leg "Stop" I whispered yelled at him we got some looks. "I'm just letting you know" then he started to pay attention to what my brother said. He makes me fill amazing.
