HSC: Chapter 2

“I’m Devin Miller. I’m the Alpha of the Prairie Moon Pack,” I said, “I would love it if you would come with me to the pack doctor-“ I stopped mid thought. She was checking me out again. She was making this very hard to do. I began waving my hands in front of her face. “Earth to Remy.” I said forcefully. Her face flushed with embarrassment. “As I was saying I would love it if you would come with me to the pack doctor. I want to make sure you are ok.” I said pretending to not notice how she had just been looking at me.

“Pack doctor?” Remy asked for reassurance.

“Yes. Our pack has one of the best doctors In the whole realm.” I answered confidently.

“Why? I feel fine. I’m not sick or anything.” She squirmed looking around for an exit.

“I never said that.” I cooed as I reached for her arm.

She looked like she wanted my touch but was hesitant to let me actually touch her. I wondered why. I put my forearm back on the door frame. I was blocking the whole entrance so Remy had no choice but to come with me.

I breathed deeply. I just couldn’t get enough of her scent. So sweet, my mouth started watering, my body began tingling and my pants were starting to get tight. I wanted to grab her in my arms and take her right there on the bathroom floor but her trapped facial expression told me that wouldn’t be a great idea.

“Pack doctor?” I asked making sure that I heard him right.

“Yes. Our pack has one of the greatest doctors in the whole realm.” He said so confident.

“Why? I feel fine. I’m not sick or anything.” I retorted.

I’ve been trying to figure a way out of this situation. I kept looking around at the door and windows. Alpha Devin was huge. He took up the whole doorway. So that exit was not even in question.

Remy you can trust him. Everything about him screams MATE!

Rainn sure was talkative. I had only just started hearing and being able to talk to Rainn. I shifted by surprise last week after getting dumped by my shitty ex Greg.

Devin was reaching for me. I wanted his touch. I wanted to feel his arms around me, but I just couldn’t forget what I had just gone through.

“‘Kay. I’ll go with you.” I answered.

Devin’s POV

Remy finally decided to come with me. I was so excited and my wolf, Duke, was doing backflips.

Duke, you need to calm down. I don’t even think she is aware that she is our mate.

Oh no Devin, I will not calm down. She is aware if not her human part her wolf is most definitely.

So, what do you want me to do? Take her home? Mate and mark her? I don’t want to force anything she looks like she’s been through hell and I don’t wanna make it worse for her.

I understand Devin, I don’t wish to hurt our mate either. I just know that we can help her get over what she’s been through as soon as she bares our mark.

This wolf was driving me nuts. I walked Remy to the car, locking the house door behind me.

“Would you like to go and get something to eat?” I ask, as we start walking toward the car.

“That would be great.” She answered.

I looked toward the car and completely forgot Jeremy was still in there. I mind-linked him to tell him to move to the backseat.
