Claire shifted in her stance. She tried to give Derek as much space as she could. They already had enough tension between them because of Emily.
It would be stupid to add more.
“So… I guess you're here to see her too?” Derek said first. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and leaned by the side of the wall.
Claire nodded, “Yeah. I am. She's avoiding my calls so I thought it'd be better to come here?”
Derek didn't think it was a great idea but oh well.
“I came by to bring her some flowers. I hope she likes them.”
Claire stuck her head forward. The banquet he had was of lilies, Emily liked roses even more.
“She likes roses more.”
“You think I should go get them?”
Claire shrugged. “It'll make for a better apology, that's for sure.”
