Matt had thought of how many times he had visited the hospital this past period.
It had become so regular, he might as well have gotten a room there for himself.
But joke aside, as he grabbed onto the doorknob of Emily's said hospital room, he wondered what next he would find now.
As he entered, the hospital room was unnervingly quiet as Matt stepped inside, the soft squeak of the door announcing his arrival. His eyes quickly scanned the scene before him. A doctor stood near the foot of the bed, his gloved hands resting calmly at his sides as he observed Emily in silence. To the right, Derek sat stiffly in a chair, his eyes fixed on Emily with an expression Matt couldn't quite place.
Was he angry?
Had Emily's condition been worse than before?
Was she limped?
He couldn't quite tell
