“Tell me the truth, Derek, don't lie to me.” Emily insisted as she sat up straight and stared into his eyes.
The cold air that danced around the beach had suddenly disappeared, and now, all that was left was the heat.
Heat while it was sundown. An uncomfortable feeling Derek had not experienced in a while.
“I wouldn't want to…” he stared, but when he looked back at her eyes and found her too focused on him for him to convert his lies, he exhaled and nodded.
