“You what!?” Claire screamed at the top of her voice. Her eyes were wide open, her jaw fell and the cup of tea in her hand was almost sliding off the saucer. Emily leaned backwards into the bed, her eyelids were closed and her chest tightened. “Look! I didn't mean for it to happen, okay? It was just a spur of the moment. I didn't know what to do.” Claire was dumbfounded but she managed to move. She rested the teacup on Emily's bedside table and then reached her friend on the bed. Gently she slid into bed with her friend and poked her. “Don't you dare look away when you and I have a lot to talk about, girl. Look at me.” Emily still didn't move. How could she when her heart was pounding in her chest? “I don't want to…” she muffled with her head buried in the pillow. “Leave me alone…”
