Jocara carefully set the MCS to sweep continuously around Armstrong, 360 degrees on all three axes. She onloaded several million shieldbots in four slightly pressurized airtight boxes. Kenred showed up with eDaphne’s matrix and plugged her into the rack. eDaphne’s holoimage joined Jocara and Kenred at the starship control panel.
“We’re ready to go,” Kenred told Jocara as he housed the ramp and closed the airlock hatches.
“Mother,” Jocara ordered, “take us to the western edge of the middle of the gash, halfway down the gash face, one klick from the face.”
In moments, Armstrong hovered a kilometer from the face of the western side of the gash. Jocara checked the MCS again. It was broadcasting redirect instructions in all directions. S
