Deep inside the vault in the sphere, the Oort saw what was happening. They churned out Task Runners to reinforce points they identified as weak. They increased the velocity of the magnetic superfluid in the twenty massive tubes forming a cage around Keid-C. The superfluid carried away some of the excess heat, but the additional velocity put a strain on the entire structure. The inner sphere had to absorb the rest of the excess. It had a 250 percent excess capacity to handle the regular flares Keid-C put out, but this was far beyond the inner sphere’s capacity.
The Oort increased the structure’s rotation to give it more stability. This increased the pull of gravity along the twenty-nine-and-a-half-million-kilometer-long, one-and-a-half-million-kilometer-wide equatorial band. Weather patter
