SAMANTHA'S POV My phone rang, jolting me out of my sleep. I glanced at the caller ID—it was an unknown number. The only people who called from unknown numbers were the debt reminders from MILLER CO-OPERATION. Reluctantly, I answered when it rang a second time. "Hello, sunshine," a man's voice came from the other side. "Hello, who is this, please?" I asked, already cautious. "Ah, sweetheart, you didn't save my number. It's not fair," the guy said, sounding hurt. "Well, sorry about that, but I don't remember giving out my number to anyone," I snapped. "Alright, feisty sunshine, I'm Jake.
