DOMINIC POV --- I felt nervous as they drove me to where Mum was. The anxiety stemmed from my unreadiness for whatever my mother had to say. I was certain she knew about the debt, and she had tried to prevent Dad from taking some action—perhaps that's why she was being held hostage. As we arrived at my aunt's house, it was no surprise to find it swarming with my father's bodyguards. Their sole purpose was to prevent me from taking my mother away.
