Armand was dangerous. Any man who could kiss as if he was discovering intimacy for the first time, any man who could coax a slow burn of a response from Theodora, any man who could make her forget her reservations when she had so many of them, should be locked away for the safety of all women in the Republic. Preferably in Theodora’s own refuge. She’d known that Armand meant to kiss her and had been excited by the possibility. She’d expected to be disappointed by the embrace, as was generally the case, and had been certain that she would be able to resist even his considerable allure. She’d been sure that her reaction to his quick embrace in the labs had been amplified by the Ivanofor. She’d held her ground, curious about his touch. It would be healthy to have her illusions shattered.
