New D.C.—President Van Buren upgraded the State of Emergency in Chicago to a Code Red at 1400 today.
New D.C.Chicago has been plagued by loose shades in the streets since the Oracle unlocked the netherzones in that city last February. Until this week, the shades have been peaceful and there was no local will to see them injured or restrained. This week, however, matters took a turn for the worse with the dramatic deaths of both presidential candidate Maximilian Blackstone and Nuclear Darwinist of the Seventh Degree, Ernestine Sinclair. Their deaths appear to have been murders, perpetuated by Ms. Sinclair’s domestic shade, which also died in an apparent suicide. Citizens feared immediately for their personal safety, many arming themselves and others exiling their own domestic shades.
