Hans steered the motor launch into a bay, beaching the craft onto the sand at Costa de la Plates en Barazeregui. Several Argentine soldiers stood on the beach with torches directing the craft in.
The soldiers helped Hitler, Braun, and Kruger off the launch and escorted them to the small, open-canopied, helicopter waiting nearby. The soldiers looked confused, and one asked Hans where the boat driver was. Hans, unable to understand Spanish, just glared at him. The soldiers mumbled as they shone their torches over the dark waters of the bay.
Hitler ranted to himself as they waited for the sunrise so the helicopter could leave.
