  Sylvia's POV   Caesar's deep voice came through the phone, carrying a hint of fatigue and amusement.   I paused what I was doing and glanced at the time in the bottom right corner of my computer screen.   "Aren't you busy today? How do you have time to pick me up?" I asked, clicking open another document and quickly scanning its contents.   "I planned ahead," he replied, his voice softening. "Too many unpredictable elements around lately. I don't like the thought of you heading home alone."   A warmth bloomed in my chest. I reached up, fingers brushing against my earlobe as my lips curled into a helpless smile.
