  Sylvia’s POV   I woke to sunlight filtering through the curtains, feeling oddly refreshed despite yesterday's ordeal. Caesar had already prepared breakfast by the time I made my way downstairs. The scent of fresh coffee and something savory filled the air, drawing me to the kitchen like a magnet.   Since yesterday's incident, something had shifted between us.
