Chapter 4Lionel lay on his back, tail squashed beneath him; belly pointed to the night sky, surrounded by the spilled contents of two candy-filled pillowcases. Could the earth just swallow him? Please? How much more embarrassment could he take? At least Kyle hadn’t seen his face yet, so if Lionel could get to his feet, he could still make a getaway.
But Lionel hadn’t suffered enough humiliation, because surprise! From this position he could finally see out of the headpiece, and as he blinked at the moon peeking out from behind the clouds, he could also see Kyle sprawled on top of him.
