I looked at Amy and smiled. She was so innocent she had no idea what an asshole her father really was. There was also a bigger secret I was keeping from her, one I wasn't willing to share. Let's hope those concerned see it that way or things could go all to s**t.
"Ready?"
She nodded.
I could tell she was nervous so I put my hand out and nodded for her to take it.
She obliged by slipping her hand in mine. I gripped it tightly, squeezing it to ensure everything would be fine.
"They're all excited to finally meet you Amy."
She smiled weakly and I opened the door leading her into the dining hall where everyone's eyes snapped at us.
