I understood what Cade was doing immediately, how he saw me.
Cade was trying to humiliate me—the “gold-digger” who only cared about money. If I'm hired, he supposed that I could do anything for him like a slave.
I looked at Cade, swallowing the retort on the tip of my tongue to tell him off.
“That isn’t part of my responsibilities.” I said calmly.
