Harper’s POV Cade and I step off the elevator and back onto the office floor. Neither of us has spoken a word since leaving Brownsville Manor. The silence has been thick and uncomfortable, but necessary. I want him to know that I’m not afraid to distance myself from him either. It’s my turn to keep him at arm’s length for a change. Cade marches directly into his office and slams the door loudly behind him. I follow suit and go straight to my desk, ignoring the dozens of eyes observing my movements.
