ETHAN’S P.O.V. The music still rang in my ears when I stumbled out of the hall. My boots scuffed against the stone, uneven, loud in the empty corridor. The laughter and clatter of the feast followed me like a swarm of bees I wanted to outrun. I had been drunk before, but never like this. The black brew hit harder than any ale, sharper than whiskey, meaner than the bite of claws. For a wolf to feel dizzy was rare. But me? I didn’t even have mine anymore. No wolf to steady me.
