IRIS'S P.O.V "Fücking Alpha! Fücking Luna! Fücking Grimfur Canines Pack. Fück them all!" I sneered as I slammed the basement door shut. "I hate them all!" I yelled and fell onto my bed. I really couldn't wait to get my Wolf so I could get the hell away from here and finally get my revenge on this filthy pack. They would pay for what they did to my parents and my pack members. I'd never be able to rest until I ruined them all, Alpha Cray in particular. I'd make him know what it was like to lose one's family. I'd make him regret the day he ever set foot in my pack. I touched my sore cheek with my fingers and winced. I was pretty sure Alpha Cray's fingers were showing. That wasn't the first time I got slapped by him nor the second, nor the third and the longer I stayed there, it was definitely not going to be the last time. I picked up my little purse and took out my face ointment and rubbed it on my throbbing cheek; I bought it for situations like this and so far, it had been pretty worth it. Now that I was done with all I needed to do for the next two hours, let me properly introduce myself. My name is Iris Antonio Conte Winchester and I was orphaned at the age of seven years old by the Grimfur Canines Pack. I was the daughter of George Antonio Conte Winchester and Irene Antonio Conte Winchester, the Alpha and Luna of the Wildclaw Guardians Pack. Based on the conversation I overheard Cray and my father have, minutes before he was murdered along with my mother and all the other pack members, he felt threatened at the rate my pack kept growing. Cray felt that if my pack became stronger and bigger than his pack, my father would challenge him for the Alpha title and take over the Grimfur Canines Pack also. But knowing the kind of person my father really was, he would have never done such a thing, mainly because he thought of Cray as his best friend but that son of a bítch betrayed my father. While trying to hide from view, I tumbled backwards and got stuck under a collapsed building. I was found by a warrior from the Grimfur Canines Pack who pulled me out from the rubble and took me to meet Alpha Cray. He looked me up and down, disgust clearly showing on his face. "Who are you and what's your name?" He asked. I didn't respond immediately because I was trying to come up with a lie. Even at seven years old, I knew telling the Alpha my real name would have been a big mistake. If he found out I was still alive and not dead like my father said, he'd either have me killed the same way he killed my parents or take me back with him to force me to mate with his son. I didn't want to die, I wasn't ready. The warrior saving me made me realize that I needed to live, for the sake of my parents so that I could avenge their deaths. I didn't want to be mated to the murderer's son so I had just one option, to lie which I did. "Cat got your tongue!" Alpha Cray snapped. "Elise. My name is Elise Ortega." "Who are your parents?" "Jake and Stella Ortega. They.... They were Omegas." I stuttered. "As from today you're a member of the Grimfur Canines Pack. You will pledge alliance to me and the members of my pack. From now on, we're your family. You have no one else but us. Understood?" "Understood but I have a question of my own". Alpha Cray narrowed his eyes at me. "What question?" "Why don't you kill me like the rest of my pack members? Why do you want to take me in as one of your own?" Alpha Cray chuckled in amusement. "You're mistaken, child. I'm not taking you in as one of my own, I'm taking you as a slave. You'll be a slave for all my pack members. You'll work alongside the Omegas, pending the time you get your Wolf. I'm taking you in so as to spite your Alpha and Luna". He laughed and his warriors joined him. "I will never raise a member of Wildclaw Guardians Pack as my own. If you were the Alpha and Luna's daughter, I might have considered it." He shook his head and chuckled as he walked away. "Move it!" Someone snapped from behind me and pushed me, forcing me to walk even with my bruised ankle. Ever since that day, life has sucked a lot. I've never been so miserable. Every member of this damn pack treated me like shït not that I wanted their sympathy. No amount of sympathy or empathy would change the fact that they ruined my life and made me so freaking miserable. So many times, I considered ending it all but like I said, I needed to live for the sake of my parents. I took a deep breath and shut my eyes. I hadn't been sleeping well, I needed to take a nap. I curled up on the very small bed and drifted off to sleep. I didn't know for how long I slept but what I did know was that a painfully loud knock on the basement door woke me up. "ELISE!" Mark yelled. I groaned and walked toward the door to open it. "What?!" I snapped in an unfriendly manner. "The Alpha heir wants to see you and before you go to see him, make yourself look presentable." He sneered before walking away. I shut the door and went to the bathroom to freshen up. The Alpha heir that was Ethan, wanted to see me. I wondered why. My eyes widened when I finally remembered that Alpha Cray ordered Ethan to take me to the dungeon as a punishment for my disrespect, I had completely forgotten. I sighed as I wiped my face with one of the towels I stole from the laundry room, when I was convinced I looked presentable enough, not that I cared if I looked homeless in front of him. Ethan was just like his father. I couldn't imagine being mated to someone like him. I walked out of my room which happened to be the basement in the main pack house. When I walked to the dining room, I found Ethan sitting crossed legged on one of the chairs and twirling a pen around his fingers. "You called for me." "I'm to take you to the dungeon." "I know. I'm not deaf after all." Ethan shot me a deadly glare but I ignored him. He stood up from the chair and walked away. Rolling my eyes, I followed suit. Finally, we arrived at the dungeon. I sighed when I saw the terrible condition it was in. There were skeletons in all the cells. "This is the cell you're staying in." Ethan murmured and I rumpled my nose in disgust. "Is there no better cell than this? This one stinks." "You have no right to complain. Next time, you'll think twice before you disrespect my parents." "Both your parents, your sister included, can burn in hell for all I care". I murmured dryly. A second later, I found myself being pinned to the bars of the cell. "What the fück! Get off me!" I yelled and tried to fight him off but he was stronger and he increased the pressure of his hands on my wrists. "Let me go". "You smell so nice". He whispered as his eyes glazed over. "I've always wondered if you taste the same." "What the fück is wrong with you?!" I growled. "Let. Me. Go!!" "Not before I have a taste." He said and gave me a creepy grin. I had never been so scared in my life. The last time I was that scared was when my pack got attacked. He forced my thighs apart with his legs and settled between them, pressing me to the bars. He slipped his have under my shirt and ran his fingers around my tummy. "Your skin is so soft". He murmured. He raised my shirt up and leaned down to place a feathery kiss on my belly button. I used that opportunity to kneed him on his chin. He hissed and moved back, holding his chin in pain. "You fücking bítch!" He snapped. "You'll pay for that." He reached out to grab me again but I moved away from within his reach on time making him to grab at the air. "Stay still!" "So you can rapé me? Yeah, right." I scoffed, making him all the more mad. Just as he was about to grab me, he fell to his knees and held the side of his face with his palms as he yelled in pain. I paused and watched him, wondering what the hell was going on. "Fück off Cain!!" He yelled and I frowned. Who the hell is Cain, I wondered. I should get help but I enjoyed the fact that he was in severe pain, he deserved it after what he tried to do to me. "CAIN!" He yelled again and shook his head in a violent manner. "Go away!" Without warning, Ethan lunged at me and we both fell to the floor with me beneath him causing me to hit my head hard on the floor. I saw stars for a few seconds before I blinked away the dizziness. Ethan reached out and ripped off my shirt partially but before he could continue, he froze and his brown eyes turned grey. "Run!" He said and I frowned in confusion. Ethan seemed to have noticed the look on my face and sighed. "I am Cain, Ethan's Wolf. I've been able to subdue him but he's fighting me really hard and I don't know how long I can keep him subdued that's why you should run before he takes over." Ethan stood up like he was being controlled which actually, he was. He offered me his hand and I felt repulsed by it but I still took it since it wasn't him in control. "I do apologize for his unruly behavior, now go. I can feel him taking over." "Thank you, Cain." I whispered. Ethan nodded and I ran out of the dungeon and straight into to the forest. I had no idea where I was going to but I just knew I had to distance myself from Ethan until he came back to his senses and it was safe for me to return. I ran with abandon and in the process, ended up bumping into something hard and strong. I stumbled and closed my eyes as I prepared myself to fall face flat on the ground but that didn't happen because a large hand snaked around my waist and balanced me in time. I looked up at the person but I didn't see the face, I was still very dizzy from the fall I had in the dungeon and I could feel myself slowly drift away. "Who are you?". The person asked but the voice sounded far away. "Huh?" I drawled. "Who are you?" I blinked continuously and then passed out.
