I pinch the bridge of my nose, knowing what Jasper is about to walk into. I'm happy for my daughter, but Jasper is going to make everything more complicated for her. She took on a huge responsibility by making the promises she made to Jasper. I can see why she did it, and why she cares for him. I'm still not thrilled about it. Jasper needs someone to depend on, though.
The child needs love.
I was hoping clearing the air between him and his father would make him crave his father's company more than my daughter's, but I guess that was too hopeful of me. She was the first person to ever show the boy any amount of love. He is going to continue clinging to her. She will need to figure out how to balance having him on her heels while still putting her mate first.
