Chapter 7Five days went by, and Adrian didn’t see or hear from Lorcan. He hardly saw or heard from Jesse either, which could only mean things were going well with Erin. The day was dark and gray, fall digging its claws deeper into the world. Adrian didn’t mind. He liked fall, but he mourned the loss of flowers on the balcony. The chrysanthemum was still flowering. He should get some heather to go with it. He should…and he hadn’t seen Doris in ages. Closing his laptop, he grabbed his jacket and headed to the door. “Some of the spark is back, I see.” Doris smiled at him from behind the counter while waiting for a woman to place the hideous lamp she’d picked on the counter. Adrian sat in one of the armchairs while he waited for the woman to pay and leave. Damn, he should have baked cookies
