CHAPTER FOUR

Alice pov

He was my one-night stand! As if he could hear my thoughts, his eyes glazed over me all of a sudden and I scurried away from him.

He grabbed my arm, turning me around to look at me. He stared at me intensely and said “I remember you, you are the girl from the bar. I know you remember me so don’t try denying it” he said in a stern voice.

Alpha lucas stared at him in bewilderment. “You must be mistaken, Beta Lucien, she’s an omega”, he laughed dryly.

Beta lucien? I’ve heard that name before somewhere in the pack and its rumored that he’s the most ruthless beta in all of North. He’s even more ruthless than the alpha of the pack.

What mess did I get myself into?

“I’m not mistaken, Alpha lucas” he said sharply, looking at alpha lucas. Alpha lucas was short of words. That was the first time i saw him quiet.

“You are pregnant, i know its mine” he told me.

He didn’t even give room to deny or say anything. I just stood there in shock. “Yes, I'm pregnant” I replied in a low voice.

Still holding my arm, he turned to alpha lucas and said “I want her, i don’t have a mate and I want her to be my mate.” He said it like there was no room for argument.

“You can only have her on one condition, Beta lucien. Your pack has some of the strongest fighters, I need some of your armies and also some land”.

Despite the fact that this is the father of my child, I can’t believe my uncle is so eager to trade me out. It breaks my heart but atleast i’m out of this house for good.

Lucien might be a beta but he seems like a very powerful man. “Fine, consider it done” he said to Alpha lucas, shaking his hands.

“We will be leaving by dawn, so get ready.'' Lucien told me. I nodded and headed to my room to pack my things. I'm finally leaving this house and I’m so excited.

My things were packed and ready, we got to the car and headed to the hallowed pack. The ride to the pack was a bit awkward but thankfully silent because I didn’t feel like talking at the moment.

“What were you doing at the bar on that day?” Lucien asked without glancing at me. I stayed quiet for a minute deciding if i should tell the truth or lie to him. I decided to go with the former.

“Something happened, that’s why.” I replied vaguely, staring at the window.

“Look at me Alice, what happened?” He asked, staring intently.

“To cut the long story short, my mate rejected me because I'm an omega and chose my cousin.” I sighed staring at him.

He nodded his head and turned back to face the road and the ride continued in silence.

We arrived at the hallowed pack and got to the packhouse. “Welcome to my pack, Alice.” Lucien announced before we came down from the car and headed inside the house.

“Welcome home lucien.” A young lady said smiling. She’s very beautiful with long brown hair and blue eyes. “Who’s this lucien?” She smiled, walking towards me as i stood there awkwardly waiting for lucien to introduce us.

“This is Alice, my mate. Alice meet Luna kira.”

Before I could say anything she gave me a very warm hug, I wasn’t expecting her to be this nice to me. I guess staying here wouldn’t be that bad afterall.

A man about 6 '2 tall came down the stairs, he looked very much like lucien but had a calmer look. “Hello brother, who is this?” He asked.

“Honey, this is Alice, Lucien's mate.” Kira smiled sweetly. I assume this is Kira's mate. If she is the luna then he is the alpha.

“Hello alpha.” I bowed my head to greet him

“Hello, I’m Alpha Alexander, welcome to the hallowed pack.” He stretched out his hand to shake me

“Thank you.” I took his hand and shook it.

“I’ll be taking Alice to our bedroom now to freshen up.” Lucien told Alpha Alexander and Kira.

We walked silently up the stairs and to the bedroom. I stood there waiting for Lucien to direct me on what to do. I’m so used to being ordered around that I’m scared of doing something that may put me in trouble.

“Are you alright? Do you need anything?” Lucien asked, his face filled with worry. “No, I'm fine really.” I answered him.

“I’ll be going for a pack meeting. Feel free to ask the maid for whatever you want.” He informed me.

When he left the maid came to prepare a bath for me and also prepared food for me. I was on the bed relaxing when I heard a small knock on the door. “Who is there?” I asked. I saw Kira’s head poking from the door.

“Hello.” She gave a small wave. “Can i come in?”

“Yes you can.” I responded by giving her a shy smile.

Kira is extremely beautiful. When i first came i didn’t take much look at her features but now I’m seeing her closely, she’s really pretty.

She has long brown waist-length hair, blue eyes with flecks of green and her teeth is white giving her a very bright smile.

“I’m really excited to finally have a girl here, you know I’ve been the only girl here for months.” She gave an awkward smile

“I understand. How has it been living here?” I asked curiously

“It hasn’t been so bad, I’ve known the twins for quite some time, we have been childhood friends.”

“Twins?” The Alpha and the beta are twins? Why didn’t I notice? They probably are fraternal twins because they don’t look alike so much, but they have similar height and eye colour.

“Yes they are twins.” She replied “Although they aren’t so close, they are brothers.”

“How did you get to know lucien?” I’ve been expecting this question from her.

“We had a one-night stand one night.” My face burned in embarrassment. “I didn’t think I would see him again until the day of the party my uncle hosted. He recognized me and discovered I was pregnant.”

Of course I was going to leave out the part where my mate rejected me, I wasn’t ready for anyone to know that part of the story yet.

Days went by and my stomach grew bigger and bigger. For werewolves, we give birth in a much shorter time than humans hence, it doesn’t take as long as nine months before we give birth.

Weeks later I finally gave birth to my pup, i named him Dax.

Back at the Shadowclan pack

Alpha Lucas

“Alpha! Alpha!” I heard one of the warriors screaming my name.

“What is it?”

“Recently werewolves have been falling sick and dying within 24 hours, we thought it was just an illness that could be cured with an antidote from the herbalist.” one of the warriors said, his voicing trembling.

This is very strange, the last time we had this kind of plague was over 100 years ago. The only person that was able to save this pack is dead. What will I do?

This plague only comes when we offend the moon goddess.

“Summon the pack seer right now, I need to understand what is going on.” I ordered the messenger.

The message ran to summon the pack seer and he came immediately.

“Seer khaleesi, its good to see you after many years.” I greet an old friend.

Khalessi has been an old friend from many years. He’s not a werewolf but a human who has the ability to see beyond realms. How he left the human world to the werewolf world is a wonder to others, including me.

“It's good to see you too old friend, the messenger told me you summoned me, I haven’t been summoned in years, hence i assume its an emergency.” He said

“Seems like the plague has returned.” I informed him

“The plague? From 100 years ago? How is that possible?” He asked, bewildered.

“I don’t know, never expected it to come back.”

“Seems like you have angered the moon goddess Lucas, this only occurs when she is angry.”

Khalessi brought out a white chalk, grinded it into dust and placed it on his palm. He took out a knife made of silver and sliced his palm. Blood began dripping out and he placed the dripping blood in the other palm to mix the blood with the white chalk.

He began chanting words I couldn’t make out and his eyes went to the back of his head. He began shaking profusely and goosebumps filled my entire body, i tried to stay strong because I’m the Alpha.

He stopped and his eyes went back to normal, the chalk and the blood completely dissipated from his left palm which left me in shock but i didn’t say it out loud.

“Who is Alice, Alpha Lucas?” Khalessi asked, leaving him in shock.
