“Did you see who I think I saw?” Caspian asked his sister.
“Yea. But let’s act like she doesn’t exist. Please.” Caspian nodded.
After the festivities are done, Delta walks out and heads to the pool. “Delta?” She stops midway and turns around. She notices Mira there, playing with her hands. She walks closer to Delta.
“Something the matter?” Delta asks her.
“Wow, you sound more like an adult.” Mira smiled, “I just wanted to say, I’m sorry.”
“About?” Delta raised an eyebrow.
“About what happened, before I left…”
Delta stopped her, “Just forget. I forgot about it. It doesn’t matter anymore. Let’s just walk around like we don’t know each other, okay?”
“Delta!” a girl from the swim team runs towards Delta and wraps her arm around Delta’s arm. She looks at Mira and smirks, “Who’s this?”
“Nobody. What’s up?” Delta turns her attention to the girl.
“I thought we could have lunch together?” She places her chest on Delta’s. “And spend some time getting to know each other.”
Delta smiled at her, “I don’t see why not. Let’s go.” She ignored Mira and left with the girl.
When they were further away, Delta released her arm, “I’m sorry, I remember I have something to do. I’ll take you out next time, okay?”
The girl pouted but then smiled, “Okay.” Delta waved goodbye to her and left for her house.
When she got to the house, she went straight to her room and threw herself on her bed. “Being in my human form is so tiring.” She heard a noise downstairs, Caspian opened the door to her room.
“Wash up and get pretty. We’re going to a party.” He told her and then left her room.
Delta sighed and got up. She wore some skinny jeans and a blue crop top with her blue and white Nikes. When she got downstairs, Caspian was waiting with some new friends. She just gave them a smile.
It looked like the whole school was there. Caspian introduced Delta to other classmates. She grabbed a cup of beer and made her way upstairs. She started looking for a place to just hangout when she was drawn by a beautiful voice.
She followed the beautiful melody into the room. But it was empty, she heard the song again and made her way to the balcony. She peeked out and saw a beautiful girl with dark hair string the guitar as she sang. Delta laid her back by the door and just watched the girl sing.
When she was done, she turned to leave, but she jumped when she saw Delta. “Oh, goodness. You scared me.” She said in the cutest voice.
“I’m sorry.” Delta giggled. “You have a beautiful voice.”
“Thank you.” The girl blushed.
“What’s your name?”
“It’s Ara. I’m a water fairy.” She smiled shyly.
“Wouldn't we go well together? I’m Delta.”
Ara giggled, “I know who you are. The whole school does.” They both laughed and started getting to know each other.
Mira was arriving to the party with her friends and boyfriend. When she looked up, she noticed Delta talking to a girl. They seemed to really get along. She felt her heart drop, but what right does she have to be jealous?
Delta laughed, when she saw Mira looking up at her she stopped and looked away. “Do you know her?” Ara asked.
Delta smiled, “She’s someone I shouldn’t have fallen for when she already belonged to someone else.”
Ara looked at Delta, “You can’t pick or choose who you love. It just happens.”
“I guess you’re right.” Delta toasted to that and drank up. “It’s late, need someone to walk you to your dorm?”
“If you can and want to, I would very much appreciate it.” She giggled. They both got up and walked downstairs. Delta found Caspian and told him she was leaving. They said goodbye and left the party.
When they reached Ara’s dorm, Delta scratched the back of her head. “Well, it was nice getting to know you. Hopefully I will see you around the campus.”
Ara giggled, “Oh you will. You’re probably withdrawn about sometimes, but you left me a good impression. I’ll be around, so I can leave an impression on you.” She grinned.
Delta chuckled and waved goodbye. Can I really move on? Delta asked herself.
