The New One

When Delta and Mira jumped in the water, they both transformed into mermaids. Mira’s tail was shiny blue, it complimented her caramel skin perfectly. Mira couldn’t help but laugh in happiness. She grabbed onto Delta and let her guide the way.

When they arrived to town, Delta took Mira everywhere. They went to all the places that Delta liked going. They ate all of Delta’s favorite foods. Mira was having such a good time, she didn’t think about getting her memory back. She liked the moments she was having with Delta, the memories they were creating.

“For the last surprise, I’m going to take you our theme park. You’ll love it!” Delta squealed.

When they were about to arrive, a mermaid swam up to where Delta was and got out of the water.

She ran towards her and smiled, “Delta!” the girl jumped on Delta almost knocking her down, “I am so happy to see you here!” She was lost in her happiness in seeing Delta, she ignored Mira.

Delta moved her aside and took Mira's hand again. “Hey Kialani. It’s nice to see you too.”

Kialani’s face went serious when she saw Delta grab Mira’s hand, she crossed her arms, “And who is this?”

Delta smiled, “This is Mira, my girlfriend.”

Kialani started fuming, “Your what!?” She pushed Mira out the way and grabbed Delta’s hand. “She can’t be your girlfriend. You’re kidding right?”

Delta got upset about how Kialani pushed Mira, she aggressively moved Kialani away and got Mira. “I’m not kidding. She is mine. My girlfriend. My mermaid. My destiny. My fate. So don’t be mean to her again, or we won’t be friends anymore.”

Kialani had her mouth opened in shock, “Why are you being mean. You’ve never been mean to me.” She started choking on her tears, “You and me were supposed to be together. She is just a new girl. You can’t possible like her after just meeting her. What does she have that I don’t!” She started crying loudly, “I want you to be with me. Not her!”

Delta and Mira looked at each other awkwardly. Kialani just stood there crying. She was getting more upset that Delta wasn’t comforting her.

She started screaming, attracting merfolks to the scene. Delta walked up to her, Mira in hand. “Don’t cry. People are looking at us.”

“I don’t care. I won’t let this b***h take you from me. Delta Blue, you will be mine. Watch. I’ll make it impossible for you two to be together. I won’t allow anyone to take you from me.” as if stating those were the last words, she turned around and dived into the water.

Delta scratched her head and looked at Mira with a sad look. “I’m sorry about that. Kialani is like a baby. We grew up together and she got very attached to me. I didn’t know she had those feelings. I always saw her as a little sister.” She took both of Mira’s hands and looked her straight in the eye, “I won’t let her hurt you. As long as you stay close to me you’ll be fine.”

Mira smiled, she didn’t know Delta had a serious side, but she really liked.
