Oh Brother!

“Caspian?” Delta looked at her person in front of her surprised. “What are you doing here?”

“Can I come in?” He didn’t let her block him, and walk straight in. “Where were you? Father has been looking everywhere for you.” He was about to continue when he noticed Mira on her bed. He went up to his sister and whispered, “Who is that?”

Delta held her hands behind her back and looked down at her feet, “I found her. She’s mine.”

Caspian slowly went up to the sleeping girl and sniffed her. He turned to look at his sister with a sharp look, “She isn’t a mermaid, Delta. She reeks. What is she?” 

Delta bit her lip and started plating with her fingers, “A witch.” Her brother looked at her surprised. 

“Delta, are you crazy!” He shouted and Delta quickly covered his mouth. She grabbed his arm and pulled her to her study and closed the door. “What are you thinking bring a human witch here? If father finds out he’ll have your head on a stick.”

Delta started getting jumpy, “Please, please, don’t tell him. She lost her memory, she doesn’t remember anything. She can stay here with me. I really like her, Brother.” 

Caspian rubbed his eyebrows. Delta looked down, “She has someone else in her heart. If I can erase that person, then she’ll be completely mine.”

Caspian quickly looked up at her, “If her heart is already tied, don’t you think that, that person will come and find her. You can’t keep her locked up here forever. What if she starts to remember? What if she finds out that you have the ability to help her remember but decided not to help? Have you thought about her feelings? If you like her then ask her.”

Delta had a panicked look on her face, “I can’t! What if once she gets her memories back, she’ll want to leave me?” 

Caspian signed, “ Delta, you can’t control someone’s heart. You know it very well.” He went over and hugged his sister. “The first person you started falling for, and she isn’t even yours.” He patted her back. 

“You can keep her here until she remembers. After that she has to go, or else I’m forced to tell Father. Make her wear the Nova Stone, but don’t let anyone see it. If she wears it, her smell of human will disappear and she’ll wear a tail when in the water. That way no one is suspicious about her.” 

Delta looked up at her brother and nodded. He ruffled her white hair and opened the door to leave. He came face to face with Mira. Delta popped out her head, “Mira!” She ran up to her and hugged her. “This is one of my older brothers, Caspian.” Caspian bowed his head.

“Remember Delta, and please be careful.” He turned and looked at Mira, “Don’t get in trouble or found out. If my sister ends up getting in trouble, I’ll kill you personally.” He gave her a cold look and left the room.  

Delta looked at Mira, who was in shock, “It’s okay don’t take him seriously. He’s only playing.” Delta gave her a cute smile and hugged her again.
