Chapter 13:Third Wheeling

976 Words
We walked towards our first class, and slowly I dove into the normalized pattern of life. Humans had it easy in that department, they had no worries of the supernatural, but needless to say that both humans and the supernatural have hardships. I used to hate humans because they could live lives that they wanted lives that weren't already set...unlike me, I was a born alpha, therefore I had to be trained to be both a good leader and a good mate. When the time came that I met Andy, I realized that even humans have hardships and not all of them had choices of what they could and couldn't do. Andy was the reason I stopped hating them and began to accept them, and I saw them as equals. The day went by, and before I knew it my day of freedom disappeared and the daunting task of what still had to be done and the thought of my father laying in bed not moving. I turned to Liam and pulled him aside and away from the crowd of students leaving school. He looked confused, but slowly turned into concern once he saw my face. Brushing a loose strand of hair away from my face, he asked, "What is it? Are you okay, do you need anything?" I shook my head and smiled sadly, "I think it's time to take my dad to the pack hospital, there he can be looked after, and we won't have to worry any more, and we can focus on what's going to happen" He smiled softly, cupping my face with his hand, "What ever you believe is best" Kissing me on my forehead and grasping my hand in his, we walked out the school doors towards Andy. **1 month later** I sat on the porch with a cup of tea in my head while going through documents that needed to be signed. Sipping softly, I looked up towards the sky as the events of the past month took over my thoughts. My dad was taken to the hospital, he was awake nut he was in and out of sleep for most of the day there's was no getting information out of from him. My pack has officially accepted me as their alpha, and Liam's pack sees me as their Luna. We were thinking of making the two packs come together, but it is a long process, hence me sitting and signing tons of paperwork. This past month, I had meetings with every pack we made alliances with. We were ready for whatever was coming our way, but the scary part was that we had no response from whoever it was. We have only had a problem with a couple rouge's, but that was sorted out within a week. Ash was just as concerned about the silence as I was, so much, so she asked if she could be in charge of our defense force, which I agreed to. Both Ash and Jarred started to look after the two packs while Liam, Andy and I went to school. Talking about Andy, he adjusted to this new life fairly well. He seemed to be avoiding me at times, well at least he seemed to be avoiding Liam.He had taken a liking to Ash flirting every so often they weren't mates but Ash had grown some feelings towards Andy. Jarred was unnerved by the two of them constantly keeping an eye on them when he could. He did however try to avoid them when they flirted. I chuckled softly to myself. I got up and gathered all the paperwork, getting ready to continue with it once I got to my dad's office. As I reached the door, a soft growl came from nearby, I whipped around to see what it was, but I saw nothing. I felt my wolf shift alert, ready to come out at a moment's notice, but I heard Liam and Jarred yelling about something. I shook my head and walked inside, thinking it may have come from them. Locking the door just in case and walked into the kitchen, placing the paper work on the counter. Liam and Jarred were holding a take-out menu, obviously arguing over what to eat, and I rolled my eyes. Walking over towards them and grabbing the menu from their grasp seemed to shake them from their argument. "Babe, please tell Jarred that this was just as much my house as it is yours and that considering I'm your mate I got to choose what we get", Liam looked at me with hope that I would agree. "Well yes, what you said about this being just as much as your house as what it is mine- ", Liam let out a victorious yes, ignoring him I continued,"As the saying goes your guest always gets first pick and considering that Jarred is a guest even though he basically lives here most nights, gets to choose our meal." Liam grunted in disapproval as I gave Jarred the menu. "Come on, you big puppy, your mate's right" Jarred said with a huge grin on his face. Liam glared at him and walked towards me, holding me by the waist and pulled me closer to him, burying his face in the crook of my neck. Apparently the mate bond helped calm him a lot when he was angry, but physical contact was the quickest option. I ran my fingers through his hair, smiling softly and whispered, "My mate the big Alpha was a puppy, who would have guessed?" I felt him laugh, and he drew me closer, kissing my neck. We were interrupted by Jarred's whines, "If I wanted to see all this live I would have stayed at home third wheeling with my sister watching the notebook we laughed, and we started going through the menu.
