Chapter NineI turn on my heel and sprint toward my building. In less than a moment, I get into the full-on flight portion of the famous fight-or-flight response. My heart is pounding and I can practically taste the cortisol and adrenaline in my rapidly drying mouth. This is exactly how those primitive people must’ve felt when chased by that hypothetical lion.
