The tree called to him from the silence. Eiji sat awake on his horse, guiding their path. Since his talk with Kago he had felt his connection with the elements strengthen. He felt the power of water nourishing him, the air refreshing him, and the earth fortifying him, almost as if, like the tree, he was now using these elements to fuel himself, to enhance his magic.
At first, as he heard its cry, he was forced to wonder if he was in fact asleep, dreaming on his horse of riding a horse, and guiding his friends aimlessly. The voice had come to him as he was wondering how it would be possible for him to find one tree amongst so many, especially given that this area sealed all forms of searching or locational magic. He was riding blind, yet when he heard the tree"s call, he was drawn to it.
