As if I wasn’t stunned enough, he turned his head to look at me. And I stopped breathing. My breath literally caught. My head swam, and it brought to mind being crazily drunk on champagne, before snapping to attention as sharply as though I’d been struck by lightning. I could swear I knew him, but of course I didn’t. It’s like I remembered him. Something in my heart recognized him, remembered him form another time, another place. It was like déjà vu on steroids.
