23It had been too many days since I last saw Gideon. I needed to see him. Almost an entire week had gone by without him. It felt strange not to have him looming and appearing unannounced. After hitting a stride with my job, the entire week flew by. I managed to find a groove, even if it did freak out the others a little. I’d meet with Michael at Elysium—Gideon left him in charge during his absence. We’d have a coffee, a bite to eat, then head out for the day’s assignments . . . or night’s.
