My mate by choice

Chapter 1 :

UNKNOWN POV:

I HAVE TO SAVE THE BOY, I HAVE TO SAVE THE BOY, ……….. I kept that thought in my mind repeating it as I ran in circles and changed my direction after taking a dunk in the stream and I kept the boy in my arms secured, then made a run downstream to avoid my pursuers. After running a few miles, I came to a highway, as I see a car is coming towards us I take the bundle in my arms and dashed towards the car. I made an impact with the car bumper and fly up in the air knocking the air out of my lungs. I see the earth coming near me so I hug the baby to my chest and made a turn to take all the impact of the fall. The last thing I remember is a lady screaming. I hope the lady will take care of the baby , with that thought I fell unconscious, ……………………………………………

18 YEARS LATER ……….:

ROBIN POV

I woke to my alarm blaring in my ears, I roll over to see the time is 6:30 am so I switched off the alarm and got my still sleepy self to the bathroom to have a shower and get myself ready to go the school. I took my shower and go downstairs to have my breakfast with my family. Sorry I forgot, let me introduce myself. I’m Robin Bernard, I’m a werewolf and today is my graduation day. My mother, Sara Bernard, and my father, Craig Bernard. They have both lost their mates but they came together to raise as their own.

As for me I have Brad and Harry as my best friends who are in my high school and also werewolves but from another pack like Satim who lost his mate recently only a year back due to pack war he is the alpha of his pack and also my other best friend David who is another Alpha. Me and my family live on neutral territory as we are not from any pack but we are not rouges but we are almost considered same but I don’t care much.

My mom and dad are already seated on the dining table waiting for me. Normally we all take a run in the morning but yesterday was my 18th birthday so we ran in our wolf forms at midnight. We werewolves get our wolves at the age of 9 to 14, but we come to our full potential after our 18th birthday only. On that day it will be determined if the person is an Alpha or Beta or Omega or in-between. It is found that I’m an Hybrid of both an alpha and beta genes which is really rare. Today is both my graduation day and my birthday as well so my friends were throwing a party for me only with our close friends.

As I reach the dining table dad asks me to take a seat and we all start eating, mom prepared all the dishes I like so I dug in. After my breakfast is almost over I heard my friends car honking outside so I hastily said my goodbye and took off towards the door yelling love you’s to my parents. As I reached the car, I was greeted by Satim, Brad and Harry, I saw that David is missing, to my disappointment, but I said my thanks and hopped into the passenger seat.

We reached high school in 10min. We all get off after Satim parks the car. We all make our way to the school and enter the hallways to reach the cafeteria as we had already cleared our lockers before and graduation assembly starts after 11:30am so we have some time to goof around with other students. We all graduate today except for Satim, as he is two years our senior, he met his mate slightly after graduation, so he is okay to be here. David is 3 years older than us and senior to Satim. We all wandered around the high school and at the right time we reached the gym hall where the graduation assembly is held and slid into our seats. Satim sits with at the back, as seats are allotted to the current graduating students only. After the valedictorian speech they started calling the names of students one by one. At our turn our parents and friends cheered for us. The ceremony lasted only for one and half hours after all the graduates had their degrees, the principal gave a farewell speech and dispersed us. After the ceremony we all took a lot of photos with both family and friends. Our other classmates said goodbye as well and we all talked about our university choices and other things. After that, I said goodbye to my parents and we all went to the car park and drove off to celebrate my birthday.

We drove for a while and arrived at our usual club exclusive for werewolves for my birthday party. They serve the werewolf drinks as normal human drinks don’t give us the buzz we need. We have high tolerance and metabolism compared to humans, so we need different drinks than that of human beings as well. So we make our way to the bar and ordered our drinks. David didn’t show up to the party as well but I set it aside. After partying and dancing for a while, I smelled the most intoxicating scent, which made my wolf Niran to wag his tail with excitement and go round in circles in my mind calling mate, so I followed the scent with my friends trailing me.

The scent leads me to a private room where a lot of moaning can be heard. Satim places a hand on my shoulders and shakes his head for me not to open the door. As to my wolf Niran, he whines in my head and curls up into a ball and howls sadly. I braced myself and opened the door. As I open the door, which is not locked, I think the scent seems a little familiar to me. Upon opening, I see my best friend, sorry my former best friend, f*****g a girl. As the door opens, the girl scrambles to cover herself but my mate just stares at me, then he looking into my eyes, says to me “ I, DAVID NATHAN GRAHAM, ALPHA OF THE DARE DEVIL PACK REJECT ROBIN BERNARD, AS MY MATE AND LUNA” as he says that I feel the mate bond snap.
