~Vincenzo~
“What’s with the face?” Rafael questions as I keep my gaze fixated on my youngest brother and his new friend, who is a girl. I gruff out when Rafael pokes my cheek roughly.
“What?” I snap at him, and I see him recoil a little.
“Why are you looking at Jas like you want to murder her?” he asks but I roll my eyes.
“Because she is a distraction” I grumble out, and Rafael has his “know it all” look in his eyes.
“To whom exactly?” he pried with his question, I narrowed my eyes at him and that got him to shut up. Whom did she distract? Me, that’s who, and I don’t need that kind of distraction right now, not when I’m at my peak.
I focus all my attention forward where Elias and Jasmine are playing some card game. “How are you so good at blackjack?” Elias asked with a questioning look as he slams his losing hand onto the trail.
He has always been a sore loser.
I hear Jasmine laugh, and I feel my breath hitch. f**k even her laughter makes me all weird and fuzzy inside. I hate that feeling.
“I’m just that good at playing cards,” she tells him with a shrug.
“How could you lose three times in a row?” Joaquin smacks the back of Elias’ neck. Apart from me, Joaquin was the only other violent brother. But Joaquin takes it to a whole other level, the guy likes to pick up fights with us, just for the fun of it.
“You try” Elias hisses at Joaquin, who just laughs at his brother.
I tone them out, by placing my headphones over my ears and closing my eyes.
We are currently sitting in my private jet. My first fight of the tour will be in Minnesota, which is why I’m stuck in the air in a metal can with my four brothers and the girl I can’t get out of my head. I can’t even believe I’m in this situation right now. Sure, I was the one who suggested bringing her along because of her talent, but clearly, I didn’t think things through.
You just had to open that big mouth of yours, didn’t you?
It’s just the thought of leaving for a whole month the agency, was not sitting right with me. Especially with that new fighter Colton showing up and started kissing her hand and s**t. I sound like a crazy person, because I hate the fact that she is here, but also enjoy her pretty face.
I just can’t seem to let go of that moment we shared 5 years ago, a moment that she doesn’t even remember.
The plane ride went smoothly, and we arrived at our destination not long after. Everyone gathered their own luggage, and we started to make our way to the front of the airport, where a limousine was supposed to pick us up.
“So which hotel are we staying at?” Jasmine asked once we were all outside and waiting. Joaquin turns around and shakes his head.
“Not a hotel, a house” Joaquin informs Jasmine and I see how her face falls into one of horror.
“What?” she gasped at my brother’s words, and I mentally smile at her reaction.
“Now you are going to know how it feels to live with the D’Angelo’s,” I tell her with a smirk, and she glares daggers at me. This girl is a little spitfire and there is nothing more I enjoy in this world than a girl who can hold her ground.

“Okay so everyone just relax and enjoy the night, tomorrow night is Vincenzo’s fight, and we need to be spot on” Joaquin examines Rafael and Elias with a pointed look.
“What are you looking at us for?” Elias asked but Joaquin only glared at him even more. Elias gives up the fight and decides to leave and take a shower.
“Jasmine, Enzo can you two go out and buy food?”
“Why can’t Rafael do it?”
“Cause his attention span is that of a fly, and we will die of hunger before he gets here,” Joaquin said with a sarcastic smile, but Rafael smacked him on the back of the neck and tugged at his hair with force.
“Don’t forget who the doctor is” Rafael barks out. “I can break every bone in your body and then fix it with elegance and grace.”
“Med student” Joaquin corrects our brother. “And I would like to see you try” Joaquin growled at Rafael, who only pulled his hair harder to prove a point.
“Enough” I snap at the two of them and they pull away from each other. “We have a guest on this tour, how about you act like civilized people for a change and not embarrass me? I raise you better than this, act like it for God’s sake” I huff out at them and they both hurry out an apology to Jasmine.
I gesture for Jasmine to follow me out the door with me to get some food and she agreed happily. We both got in the car and silence engulfed the two of us. I’m happy with silence, it gives me time to think and not become a wreck of nerves when she is so close.
“What are we going to eat?”
“You choose,” I tell her with a shrug, and I see from the corner of my eyes how that surprised her.
“Really?”
“Yeah, but nothing too greasy, I still have a fight tomorrow night,” I tell her, and she giggles at my comment.
Surprisingly Jasmine decided that we would be eating some homemade sandwiches, so we stopped at the nearest grocery store I could find.
As I’m carrying the basket and taking whatever Jasmine is giving me, I notice two people standing at the end of the aisle we are. I can see how their faces morph into one of bliss and the two people start running toward me.
I try to move Jasmine out of the way, but she is out of my reach. The two fans bump into Jasmine and knock her down, trying to reach me. I glare at both of them and squat down to help Jasmine off the floor.
“You are Vincenzo D’Angelo” the girl squealed out, but I ignored her.
“Are you okay?” I question Jasmine in a low tone as I hold onto her elbow to steady her. My eyes rake her body looking over her and making sure that she didn’t scrape herself. Jasmine nods her head with a small smile, probably embarrassed about falling down with just a bump on the shoulder from two people.
A hand taps me on the shoulder, and I turn around to face some very impatient fans.
“Can we get a photo?” the guy asked, but I narrowed my eyes at the two of them.
“How about you apologize to my friend first, for knocking her over?” I hum out, very impatiently. They cannot be seriously asking for a photo after knocking Jasmine down to the ground.
“Oh, I’m sorry, we didn’t see you there” the guy apologized looking extremely embarrassed. I look at the girl who still hasn’t apologized, I raise a brow and she starts to fidget under my gaze.
“Sorry,” she said softly. I guess I can take that, fans are not really ones to apologize for anything when they are trying to reach their idols.
“It’s all right, want me to take the photo?” Jasmine asked, noticing the guy taking out his phone. He handed over his phone and Jasmine happily accepted it. Jasmine takes the photo and hands the guy his phone back. They bid their goodbyes and wished me luck on tomorrow night’s fight.
I bend down to pick up the basket with all our groceries, and once I’m standing straight, I notice Jasmine sporting a big smile on her face. “What?” I ask her with insecurity.
“So, we are friends now?” she questions with a smile, and I roll my eyes at her.
“Don’t” I growl out and start walking to the register with a laughing girl right behind me.
