The Alpha Who Melts The Ice

Chapter 1

Celestine

11:00 PM

"Finally." I hit enter and as soon as the email notified it has been sent, I shut down my laptop. I lost count of how many contracts, offers and counter offers I have done for the day, and my shoulders are aching like hell. I am so itching for a warm shower and head off to my cozy bed. These are one of those times I hate being human.

My name is Celestine. Yes, I am human, but I was adopted by werewolf parents, Alpha Norris and Luna Catherine Carter of the New Moon pack. They took me in and raised me as their own pup, and even if I am human, the pack accepted me and protected me as their own. Nobody could question the Alpha after all, and besides, how could they when I have a major role in the progress of the pack.

You see, I may be human, but I am smart, like really smart. My parents had my IQ measured and turns out they have a gifted human child. I finished university at 19 with 2 majors - law and economics. I'm a licensed attorney and very sharp business skills- which I use to help my father establish his business empire. In a matter of 5 years, everyone in the supernatural world know the New Moon pack, and I am damn proud of it.

I looked at my schedule for tomorrow, and it's going to be packed. I was planning to go to bed earlier but time sensitive documents needed my attention and before I knew it, it's getting close to midnight. I showered and prayed to the goddess that tonight will be a dreamless sleep. tomorrow will be another day.

Grayson

6:00 AM

My phone has been buzzing incessantly on the bedside table for  minutes straight now. I gingerly picked it up to see the  motherfucker that's calling at this hour so I can rip their heads off later. It's my Beta, Adam. I let out a grunt.

"Hey, Grayson. Where are you, man. We have a flight scheduled at 7:00 AM. You know this deal is f*****g important so get you better not screw this." My Beta's irritated

"Yes mom, I'm on my way" Was all I said, then I hung up. I dragged myself off of the bed, but I really wanted to linger and have another round with the chick I took with me last night, but I am the Alpha. The pack comes first.

"Baby, you coming back to bed?" I must have woken her up. What was her name again? I fuckin could not remember. "Sorry, gotta go. Business. You're welcome to the room and you can stay the day if you need to" and I bent down to give her a peck. At that, I put on my clothes and left the room.

My name is Grayson. I am the alpha of the Black Woods Pack. My pack is one of the largest wolf packs in the world. I party hard but I damn work harder. Today, we are off to visit the New Moon Pack. I have been working hard on closing a deal with them. They are a small, eccentric pack of wolves that are both extremely traditional and progressive. Most wolf packs live in a pack house but this one, they live in a castle off of the coast. I am pushing for an alliance with them as they are one of the very few packs that have embraced the niceties of modern living. They are also the biggest manufacturer of weapons against the supernatural. The advancements they have made on their designs are unique, which, despite their small number, makes them formidable.

"Grayson, New Moon's lawyers made revisions and additions to the alliance agreement. Our proposal also has been turned down." Adam's irritation is growing by the second. I looked at the documents and shook my head. Their damn legal has been a pain since day one. They would disagree and challenge each and every terms at each and every clause, which is why I have decided to pay them a visit to personally discuss matters with their Alphas - Yup, Alphas. The current Alpha, Alpha Colin, takes care of all the pack's concern. He runs the pack itself. He inherited the title from his father, Alpha Norris who, in my understanding, is running the business side of the pack, and since demand for Carters Weapons is very high throughout the supernatural world, it will be too much for just one person to take care of everything. In this aspect, I know that the Alphas are wise which makes me want to seal the alliance all the more.

It's a 3 hour flight and 3 hours drive from the nearest town. My wolf is getting antsy and wanted to go for a run. For some reason, he has been restless these past two days. I can feel him pacing back and forth in my head. I closed my eyes willing him to calm down.

"I heard they live in a friggin castle! You think they have hot chicks over there?" That was my overzealous Gamma, Brandon.

"Keep it in your pants, Brandon! I do not want any trouble with the Alphas. This alliance is very important to our pack.

"Look at that! I don't mind living and staying here!" He exclaimed. He can be a kid sometimes. That's when I observed New Moon's territory. Acres and acres of land and green fields. Over the distance, I can see a long bridge with a steep drop on both sides. The bridge stretches a few miles and stops at the large, ancient-looking gate. One side is a cliff and the other side lush forest. It's a scene right out of a story book, where you'd expect dungeons and dragons and maybe a princess in distress. 

Our convoy stops right in front of the gate. My driver rolled down the window. "Alpha Grayson Lark of Black Woods Pack" The sentry obviously mindlinks the people inside and then he motioned for the gates to be opened. "Good evening Alpha, and welcome to New Moon". Our convoy entered the gate. I noticed armed sentries patrolling the wall. Surveillance cameras everywhere. In one of the towers is a f*****g AIG's. Just who are these people and what kind of pack is this? What kind of operation are they hiding to enforce such security measures?

By the time we arrived, the sun is almost setting. We drove up to the front of the house where several people are standing to greet us. I immediately recognized the young Alpha Colin We have been in a few senate meetings together. The older version of him standing behind him must be Alpha Norris and the Luna Catherine.

I alighted from my vehicle and I was greeted by the most marvelous scent that I have never smelled before. It is very faint, but for some reason, by wolf is getting extremely excited and I am having a hard time reigning him in.

"That's mate! Find mate! She's here" Drake is howling nonstop in my head.

"Grayson! Whatsup my man" Happy with the distraction, Colin extends his hand and chest bumped me. Kinda like what you see in jocks in school.

"Welcome to our humble manor, Alpha" It was Alpha Norris turn to extend his hand for a handshake. "This is my Luna, Catherine".

"Pleasure to meet you, Luna Catherine" I took her hand and gave it a kiss and my megawatt smile. I need to win them over.

"Pleasure's all mine. I'd like you to meet my daught...wait, Colin, where's your sister?"

On queue, she walked out, and there's that heavenly scent again. It's her.

"MATE" my wolf screamed

"FUCK.." She said... wait, what?
