Chapter7- GUILT

1040 Words
It feels like just yesterday. This is the phrase that kept repeating in Amaiah's mind as she stepped off the yacht she had boarded, heading towards a place she never expected to set foot on. She filled her lungs with air to breathe. This is her first step in this place as Serena. The three of them, along with Claime and Millet, went straight to the woman's condominium. In fact, they each had their own condo unit given to them by the "Sagradas." After escorting the woman, he took a break in his room. It's only a week that they have duty with Millet, someone from the island will take over after a week because Claime and the others will be starting their mission. The next day, Claime accompanied her for a major make-over. She had her hair cut short, pixie cut type. She wore a blue contact lens that suited her face. She knew she couldn't hide her resemblance to "Amaiah." But the way he moves and the tone of his speech, he has studied how to change them, far from the previous Amaiah who was demure and couldn't break a plate. "You look more seductive, Serena!" Claime said when he saw her come out of the doctor's room. "Thanks, do we have anything else to do?" "Mmmm, a date?" he said, teasing her. "Claim it, I'm serious!" "We need our things again." "So, let's go to the Mall." he said. -------------------- Punto de vista de un tercero "Good morning, boss," greeted Liam by his new employees at his newly built mall. Ito ang kanyang unang pagsubok sa ganitong uri ng negosyo. It's only been open for a month, but it's already well-known in their area. He only responded with nods and smiles to the employees who greeted him when they crossed paths. He was about to enter the men's section when he spotted a couple buying a coat. He approached the two to make sure he wasn't just imagining things. "Amaiah," she whispered softly to herself. It seemed like he was frozen in place when he saw the woman smiling and laughing with the man she was talking to. He approached the two but hid behind the displayed clothes. "This suits you better!" said the woman who looked exactly like his late wife. She examines her body. Amaiah is petite while the woman has a more shapely body. Her hips are wide and her waist is very small. Amaiah is fair-skinned while the lady is Morena type. "As long as you choose, that's perfectly fine with me!" replied the man with her. "Come on, just pay for it!" the woman said and walked away from her companion. She panicked when she saw him walking towards her location. Due to his quick movements, he bumped into the woman, and unexpectedly, they both fell at the same time, with him landing on top of her. Their eyes met. He saw her blue eyes, ocean-like eyes that seemed to drown anyone who gazed into them. Cuando sus ojos se posaron en sus labios, casi no se movió. " Amy......." pronunció sin querer. The woman's face went blank when she heard what he said. She suddenly pushed him, and he quickly stood up in front of her. He remained seated on the floor, not because his body hurt but because of the woman in front of him. She is exactly a replica of Amaiah. Could this be her husband? He quickly stood up and tried to brush off the side of his pants even though he didn't see any dirt on it. "Don't touch me." He slapped her hand that hit his leg. "I'm sorry, Miss," he said. But he didn't pay any attention to her. She hurriedly went back to her companion. Confused and doubtful, he managed to get to his office. Hello, darling. "Kamusta ang araw mo?" He was surprised when he heard Nathalie's voice. The woman was already in front of him before he even realised it. She hugged him and kissed him on the lips as she sat down beside him. "It's okay." "What's okay, Christian said you didn't order food for lunch, so here, I brought your favourite." Christian is the right-hand man and general manager of the Mall. He forgot to have lunch because he was lost in thought. Why can't he get the woman from earlier out of his mind? Why does it seem like this person and Amaiah are the same? "I also made your favourite cookies!"" added Nathalie, but she didn't bother to respond further. "Thank you, Honey," she replied. "Well then, I have a meeting later too." I just stopped by to bring you your food. I love you, hon." she kissed him again, this time on the cheek. "I love you," he said seriously. He opened the box of cookies that Nathalie baked for him. He bit into it and closed his eyes. Before long, his tears flowed, he remembered Amaiah. He betrayed her. He betrayed his wife. Maybe, it is his conscience disturbing him until now. Even though two years have passed, he still thinks about what he did to his wife. He didn't even confess the truth to her. About his relationship with Nathalie. The tragic part is that it didn't die from its illness but from a terrible accident. He admits that everything hasn't been easy for him. They had a history together, and she was still the woman he married, so her loss was painful for him. After a year since Amaiah died, Nathalie and I lived together. In the same house as his wife, but they are still unmarried. She keeps pestering him about his proposal, but because of the mall he constructed, he became busy and forgot about the proposal. He took a deep breath. Nathalie is a nutritionist but she can't cook good food. Unlike Amaiah, whose taste is always spot on. He can see that she is trying her best to go beyond her but she can't. Even the cookies made by his wife, which are his absolute favourite, don't taste the same. He leaned back in his swivel chair again. He still can't get the woman from earlier out of his mind.
