I keep running even though I’m convinced that my paws are probably bleeding. I can hear Simon’s howl in the distance and I know if he finds me now, he is going to kill me. He never loved me. I realize that now. He was just using me.
I also hear other howls from strange wolves, but they sound as if they are further away. I have to keep running, and I have to find a way to hide my scent, so I can turn back and get rid of them. While I’m running, something hits me from the side and as I black out from the sheer force that knocked my wind out, I see the glowing red eyes.
