Chapter 2

Niel held back a laugh as he brought a hand to his face. What a stupid boy, he thought as he turned his gaze back to the mirror. Fighting over a girl? Waste. Niel D.E. Tempest was one of the four future Dukes of Neveah, a realm where magic and celestial powers existed. A world filled with dragons and fantastical creatures like him and yet he wasted all his time fighting Duke Maalik over a girl. At least my name held, he thought with a shrug and took in her countenance again. Memories of him seemed to return like a line that was slowly pulled and his body just seemed to embrace them, since in the end, they should still be in him. "Want help getting dressed, sir?" The butler's voice brought him back and Niel smiled gently. "No, Sebastian, but could you do me a favor?" Hearing his name, the platinum-haired butler smiled. "What do you want, my lord?" he questioned in a short bow. "Prepare my coffee in the garden, I intend to try something and I feel it will be pleasant if I do it while I have my breakfast." Niel said then, walking over to the clothes on the bed. The white shirt was lightly fitted to his body and the gray vest hugged him like a third skin. The tight pants didn't surprise him. The man who followed the chosen outfit was…too gaudy and Niel abandoned him on the bed as he buttoned the sleeve of his shirt. “My hair would be so much better if I let it grow” he thought and as a test, he snapped his fingers, the black strands becoming long, falling to the height of his hips. "Magic is really useful," he muttered, looking at himself in the mirror. He was now a lord. A draconic lord, with fangs that protruded when he smiled and horns that peeked gracefully through the dark strands of his hair. A lot would have to change, Niel knew, but for now he would be content to grow stronger and take the title of duke as soon as possible, starting by stopping chasing Lady Julian and accepting the traits of which his father he was so proud and that the former Niel so much hid to try to win the human lady. "Dumb", Niel chuckled inwardly "no matter how beautiful she may be, how the hell does one deny a powerful bloodline by a human?" he didn't even need an answer, no wonder the old Niel had been rejected by his father and ridiculed by Duke Maalik. “Everything is ready in the garden, my lord.” Sebastian's voice in the background made Niel smile. Sebastian was a faithful butler. One of the last full-blooded draconic to serve the E. Tempest family and also the only one who stood by his side even when his own father abandoned him. Sebastian deserved far more than the rough treatment the old Niel had given him and now, Niel knew he could do more. In his old life he had wanted someone like Sebastian to fight for him, but there was no one. “Thank you, Sebastian. He said looking up at the butler who was still staring at him in surprise at the change. “Oh, don't think wrong, I didn't just do this to please my father, I feel like I left a lot behind through stupidity and immaturity, Sebas, so…I'll fix it while I can still do it without too much loss. The draconic's eyes watered, like a proud parent watching their child grow up for years. "I'm glad to hear that, my lord..." Sebas replied, looking pleased, "the master had been very happy to see him in this form." He was right and Niel knew it. "I hope so. It's time to grow up and by the way, can you prepare a carriage for me after talking to my father? I need proper clothes and I honestly think human fashion is way out of date for a ducal prince to wear." “I will, sir,” Sebas said, hurrying to the bed and pushing back the coat Niel had left behind, “but we still have some draonic pieces so, allow me,” he said happily pulling a cape that draped gracefully over from the closet. the shoulders. Niel raised an eyebrow and smiled. The cape was as black as her hair and the silver accents matched the dark gray of her waistcoat. “Serve, you are truly worthy of the position you carry, Sebas.” The butler smiled with a curt bow. 'You're flattering me too much, my lord. “Just enough, my dear,” Niel said, fastening his cloak and walking out of his room.
