Chapter Two- The Longing

I walked around the room, pacing as if to tell her that our secret relationship would be no more, and that she had to go quickly to the other side. Then she hit me with it. "I'm pregnant." I stood there in my tracks at what she had just told me. The thoughts echoed throughout this dirty stable that was on the outskirts of the castle near the dock. I heard nothing, and seemed to be all alone out here. It had been like that for awhile, but my thoughts kept it pretty lively. Fair and beautiful long flowing blonde hair whispered it's way through me, and suddenly I saw her. "Hi, Tara." The look on her face appeared startled, and she looked at me. "Benjamin," the maiden said to me. "It's been ages! We were all wondering where you ran off too." She appeared to me more human suddenly, and so did I. "The council I waiting to here from you a statement of death." I smiled. "Why, of course." She guided me throughout the castles walls to the throne room so that I could speak to the king himself about the incident of my unfortunate death. Appearantly we were all deceased around these parts. I bowed to him upon entering his presence. And then we hugged. "Benjamin! It's nice to hear back from you," King Thermald said to me with the most heartfelt sound in his voice, for he had become almost like a father to me. "How have you been?" "Horrible. It was almost like a nightmare." The glistening sound of the rain soothed me greatly, for it had been so long since I had felt this alive. I felt cool, and like the life force grew stronger within us. "But now, I feel way better. Almost like I'm not dead anymore." The humble king fumbled throughout a bunch of notes, and sent me on my way. He said he would summon me if he needed anything done. There was nothing to worry about now that death was here. I laid in my bed chamber while listening to the sounds of the rain that seemed to soothe me to sleep, while thinking of her. Her hair that danced in the rain of a many of summer nights we spent together near the pond. She loved me dearly. The beautiful woman walked up to me. "Caudia, you're starting to show," I said to her near the pond. "You can see?" Her baby bump was peaking out over her dress, and I smiled warmly. Though we would never be normal, we were very loving to one another. The blemish of hope gleamed in her eyes. Some people in the palace knew about Claudia's pregnancy, yet the king did not. And though he didn't see fit for me to be a parent while carrying such a heavy burden, he couldn't know I was the father. "I love you. And I always will." We slow danced by the pond, and laid in the grass beside the pond there that night. "You're the love of my life. I wouldn't ever dream of losing you." The thoughts flooded through my mind like a flood of tears as I sat there on my bed, and sobbed. I knew she didn't die in the castle, and the king knew we would be trapped forever. There was no way for her and I to ever meet again. I often wondered why she didn't die in the castle, and why she was sent away so suddenly, but my downfall was being so clueless while my job allowed me to be reckless at times. The gloom of the following day, seemed to be carried out to this day, and time seemed to go on so slowly. The exhausting sound of a yawn escaped me lips. "Wherever you are. Please marry me once we do actually meet again." That's whenever I heard the faint sigh of a girl. "That's so dreamy," said the blonde haired princess that looked very happy to hear such charming words come out of my mouth. "I want to thank you," I said. "For noticing my romantic side for once." The little princess giggled and curtsied to me. "You were always so handsome," she said. "Thank you." There was a long pause whenever she told me she had lost her doll. I told her I would find it for her soon.
